Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: Milc is a non-residential, independent living center for persons with disabilities. Milc provides a variety of services for the purposes of assisting people with disabilities to live more independently in the community. Milc staff provides resources to persons with disabilities current, changing and newly emerging needs in support of their individual independent living goals. Milc is invested in providing opportunities to empower and educate persons with disabilities to make informed choices, to help them learn and to self-advocate and inform the local, state and national community about issues of concern or need. Milc supports consumer control and is mandated to have at least 51% of milc staff and at least 51% of the board of directors being persons with disabilities.
Programs: The pas program provides assistance to adults and children with disabilities. Services are provided in the consumer's home. The help can range from simple personal needs to complicated personal cares. (services include: personal cares, supportive home cares, respite and medication set-ups)

milc staff provide fee for service. These are services are related to independent living program, but they are billable and not provided under a "grant". Ffs includes such services as: representative payee services, benefits counseling, independent living assessments, accessibility survey, peer specialist services (including the 2 mental health drop in centers) and independent living skills training.
