Mission: Midland teen court inspires good citizenship by providing an educational opportunity through youth participation in an alternative system of justice, which promotes accountability and community engagement.
Programs: Teen court provides an alternative system of justice to offer young offenders an opportunity to make restitution for their offenses, and an educational opportunity for both offenders and volunteers to better understand the system of justice. 56 court sessions were held at the midland county courthouse on 30 monday evenings. 1,957 youth participated at midland teen court sessions: 369 youth had a case heard by teen juries and also served as teen jurors for case requirements. 615 volunteer youth participated at court sessions serving as teen attorneys and/or jurors. 297 youth successfully completed a case in midland teen court, serving a total of 7,057 hours community service for local nonprofit organizations in the process. Cases of 369 youth were handled by midland teen court during the year. Midland teen court also presented 10 educational seminars, led by local experts, attended by local experts, attended by 155 youth.
