Causes: International, International Development, International Exchange, International Migration & Refugee Issues
Mission: MECA strives for a just solution to the Middle East conflict by providing aid to children in the region and by educating Americans about the situation there.
Programs: Since 1988 MECA has delivered more than $8 million worth of medicine, medical equipment, food, infant formula and vitamin supplements, as well as books, toys and school supplies. MECA has helped build and sustain grassroots organizations in Palestine that address the health and educational needs of children. Our scholarship program enables talented Palestinian refugees to acquire college and graduate degrees in the U.S. MECA also has educational programs to increase understanding about the Middle East and U.S. foreign policy in the region and to encourage Americans to become advocates for peace and the rights of children.
