The Mid Peninsula Boys & Girls Club is my home away from home, to my wife and I. The club is a great place where I am able to give back to the community and kids'. I've been volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club for many years and the feeling is very heart felting. The staff at the club are very dedicated to their responsibilities and their number one priority are the kids'. I've seen the club make so many positive changes in the lives of all the children. This is a place where I will continue to come back year after year and support them the best that I can!

Causes: Boys & Girls Clubs, Children & Youth
Mission: Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club (MPBGC) is a premier youth development agency with a goal to significantly enhance the lives of youth. Our mission: to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. This goal is achieved by providing youth with an array of educational and recreational programs that furthers each child's intellectual, emotional and social growth. Mid-Pen BGC provides disadvantaged youth with a safe place to learn and grow; ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals; life-enhancing programs; character development experiences; and hope and opportunity. Programming is designed to encourage a positive self-identity; education, employment, emotional and cultural competencies; community and civic involvement; health and well being; and a moral compass.

Programs: Youth participation in Boys and Girls Clubs creates a positive change in their academic success, character and citizenship and healthy lifestyles, as reported by Public/Private Venture’s report “Making Every Day Count.” Those results aren’t magical or mysterious, they are concrete and they come from the hard work invested in building positive bonds every day at our Clubhouses. The heart of our program is the relationship we build with each child and the brain of our operation includes the program activities that structure every child’s experience in our Clubhouses. Our vision is to provide a strong Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors. Providing vibrant programs, rooted in a mentorship type of culture that is characterized by intensive, targeted supports around the four pillars of youth development that we know build lasting impact in the lives of young people. 1. ACADEMIC SUCCESS: Develop our members’ academic proficiency, ensuring that our members are on track to graduate, ready to embark on to their next journey of attending college, trade school, military or finding success in the working world. 2. GOOD CHARACTER & LEADERSHIP: Hold our youth to high behavior and character expectations, while reinforcing the traits we know will create caring, responsible and productive citizens. 3. HEALTHY LIFESTYLES: Nurture healthy lifestyle choices among our youth, so that they are equipped to take steps toward positive behavior changes. 4. INSPIRATIONAL ADULT RELATIONSHIPS: At Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club our staff are experts when it comes to our youth. Research shows that children, especially those coming from low-income households perform better in school and life when they have multiple positive relationships with adults.
