Mission: THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH THE MID-ATLANTIC NETWORK OF YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES WAS FOUNDED IS TO ASSIST THOSE WHO PROVIDE SERVICES TO RUNAWAY AND HOMELESS YOUTH IN HIGH-RISK SITUATIONS BY PROVIDING TRAINING, INFORMATION AND RESOURCES.

Programs: P3 positive pathways program - many is the founder of the positive pathways program (p3), a multi-level strategy to reduce community violence and improve the long-term labor market prospects of youth who have had involvement with the juvenile justice system. This initiative is funded by an $8. 5 million demonstration grant from the department of labor employment and training administration. The target audience for this program are youth, ages 16 to 24 from high-poverty, high-crime communities. P3 connects individual pathway coaches with youth involved in the juvenile justice system and in at-risk situations to provide youth with a menu of holistic services ranging from education programs, life skills training, mentoring, physical/mental health, cultural enrichment, and workforce development. in designing and implementing their own pathway plan and working towards goals that will improve their labor marketability, life prospects and the long-term success of their families and communities. The p3 model is currently being implemented in five states. Mentoring+ program - mentoring has been proven as an effective way to improve academic performance and school engagement, while increasing positive community engagement. The mentoring+ program supports organizations in developing or enhancing their mentoring programs. This includes coordinated training, individualized technical assistance, and other support services through a hands-on, evidence based model.
