Great cause with a phenomenal group of volunteers working diligently to bring this cafe to fruition. I’m looking forward to coming by for a chai tea latte.
Can’t wait for the opening of Katie and Anastasia’s Cafe - a wonderful opportunity for wonderful people....we fully support this nonprofit moving forward - very exciting!
We are very impressed with this organization. There is no where else out there where a business has opened with having people with disabilities working there. We are very fortunate to be part of this.
Everyone involved has been completely committed to making the launch of Anastasia and Katie’s a success. I can’t wait to see their efforts come to fruition.
We are very appreciative for the mission behind Anastasia & Katie's Coffee Shop and Cafe - to create, sustain and advocate job opportunities for people with disabilities. MI Work Matters has committed to opening this local coffee shop/cafe within the Livonia community. Currently 8 adults with disabilities are being trained for part time employment. As parents of one of the new employees, we have personally witnessed the compassion, sincerity & professionalism this organization has not only to make this business a success, but to make these adults feel inclusion and a part of something very special! I'm very thankful to be a part of Mi Work Matter's! It takes a lot of hard work and dedicated volunteers to advocate for meaningful, inclusive employment! I'm blessed for the friendships made along the way! When I see the smiles on the Anastasia & Katie's employees and their eagerness to learn and work- it drives me to keep going and to keep the faith that we are on the right path! Together We Can Make A Difference!
They do an excellent job working with Down syndrome children providing training opportunities and jobs. The organization makes a difference by ensuring all children have an opportunity to contribute to society.
I'm so happy to be working at Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop and Cafe. I feel like this is a safe place for me to get work experience. They include people with disabilities and make us feel important. They understand our struggles and offer good support, but still help to push us to be better.
My managers and co-workers are great. I think we're going to work awesome as a team.
The work that this non profit is doing to help all learners gain the skills and experience needed to get a fair start in the job market is incredible. So many businesses could learn from this approach, and inclusion on all levels is incredibly important to our community.
The dedication, passion and compassion of these folks is truly humbling yet energizing. The goals for which they strive will make the whole world a better place, beyond their "corner of the world". I'm honored and delighted to be a part of this.
Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop & Café employs individuals with and without disabilities. The employees all receive job training and on-site support to feel confident in their day to day jobs in a positive and inclusive environment. Mi Work Matters the nonprofit that is making this happen. They have worked very hard to make sure that everyone matters.
MiWorkMatters, We wanted to let you know how happy and motivated our son has been since starting his training at Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop and Cafe. He is getting himself showered and his clothes set out for work, with no reminders. He is up and ready early in the morning, and actually reminding us of the daily itinerary. A few days ago he reminded his dad to flip the laundry, so he could have his work clothes ready and hung up for the next day. This level of organization has never happened for him before. Thank you so much for providing this opportunity to our son.
Mi Work Matters will soon be opening Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop and Cafe. They have worked very hard to fundraise, interview, hire and train their staff. They are letting people with different abilities know that what they do, matters.
Our family has been very impressed with the work of Mi Work Matters. Mi Work Matters is all about GIVING PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS A CHANCE TO WORK and I'm honored to help in such a worthwhile endeavor.
The work that these amazing people are doing is nothing less than amazing. I am proud to know them and look forward to what is yet to come.
a wonderful organization giving people with different abilities meaningful employment and resources that will help them the rest of their lives.
Mi Work Matters is one of the best non profits that I have worked with. They are highly dedicated to the success of all individuals with all different abilities. The addition of Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop and Café is bringing experience to many individuals who may not have an opportunity to work in the hospitality industry. They are hard working volunteers who are here to make a difference.
Mi Work Matters is such a wonderful organization. They provide a meaningful and safe place of employment for those with different abilities. The confidence and the training that they give their employees is outstanding. They let everyone they come into contact with know that their work....matters.
Mi Work Matters is a nonprofit with heart and a passionate board that does what it takes to make things happen. The group has done some amazing work over the past year - including launching the first program; Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop & Cafe. Coffee Shop employees with and without disabilities receive job training and on-site supports so that they may create a welcoming, fully inclusive community destination, successfully perform their role within the coffee shop and be role models for others who want to contribute to their communities in competitive employment settings.
