Mission: Since being founded in 1934 by then-Police Chief Major Ernest W. Brown, the Metropolitan Police Boys and s Clubs have worked to prevent juvenile crime in Washington, DC. The Clubs are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our eight inner-city clubhouses and summer residential camp provide many worthwhile athletic, academic, and recreational programs to up to 12,000 at-risk boys and s annually. Working hand-in-hand with the Metropolitan Police Department, our year-round programs have changed many young lives. Computer labs, tutoring, life-skills training, and team and individual sports are our key programs. Our members are children between the ages of 6 and 17, many of whom are African-American, living in under-served, inner-city neighborhoods.
