This organization is making a PROFOUND difference in people's lives. The lost, hurting and hopeless find refuge and restoration for their souls through Jesus Christ, while they are being cared for in the comfort of a loving home. Agatha Odamah, the Director of Metro Haven of Love, and her family have literally laid down their lives for these women, and shown them that God never gives up on anyone, EVER. This is truly a work of God.
Metro haven of love takes women off the streets that are on drugs homeless and into prostitution providing a home where they are nurtured restored so they are helped to find jobs and become self supporting. This organization has been active over many years helping many men and women in the Dallas/Forth Worth area rebuild their lives and have new beginnings through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Metrohaven of Love truly has a sincere heart and the the desire to bring people out of the bondages of addiction and into their Kingdom purposes. I have had the privelege of being on the board of directors for this non-profit ministry for the last two years. It is a ministry of great love and Christian discipleship for women that are transitioning out of substance abuse back into society. It provides a lovely home of peace and community living giving the women avenues and tools to rebuild confidence, selfworth and healthy relationships. They help the women find jobs and connenct them with outside services for their varied needs. The Director, Ms. Odamah, has a genuine love for all the women that come into this home. She has a huge heart and desire to see them set free from the bondage of their addictions and living to their God given potential. Her heart is to see it expand into many other houses around the Dallas metroplex. She would like to open a thrift store with the many donations that she received. It would give the women work and teach them skills to prepare them for greater jobs. My experience has been very rewarding as I have seen many lives transitioned and transformed through the love of Christ that is evident here.
I can not think of a finer women than the Director of MetroHaven. She and her family have poured themselves into this minstry to bring people to wholeness and to draw out the greatness that lies beneath all of us.
This ministry is not just a program to IMPROVE people -- the people are getting set free from their pasts and becoming NEW CREATURES in CHRIST! The transforming power of God is on this place and they feel loved and accepted and are being renewed to go back out and live their lives as they were intended to. It is truly a miraculous place!
MetroHaven of Love has helped me emerge into a person I thought I could and would never be: A strong, motivated, kind woman. In my past life I had a strong addiction (to say the least) to alcohol that tore me down to nothing and made me feel worthless. I was very shy, timid, had no social skills no happiness, hope or faith. When I came to MetroHaven I started to change little by little, day by day into this different person: a responsible, strong, independent, caring and worthy person grew out of me. The programs and classes at MetroHaven of Love helped bring out from within traits and characteristics I really never thought existed in me. God used MetroHaven of Love to be the vehicle of change in me and to show his unconditional loving kindness and forgiveness for someone like me. Ms. Sarah Odamah (Program Director) and Mrs. Agatha Odamah (Executive Director) have always encouraged me and lifted my spirits which enables me to become greater than what I could hope to be. I can't wait to see all else that is in store for me at the MetroHaven of Love.
My experience at MetroHaven of Love has been a blessing in the Lord and longtime coming. I am at rest in the Lord. Before, my life was headed towards destruction and death. I have chosen the Lord as my Savior for Salvation and he has brought me to His work for His Glory at MetroHaven of Love. At MetroHaven of Love I can feel the Lord's presence and know He is at work here. Through the work of the staff and my experience with the clients, I have felt encouraged, continue to be be encouraged and continue to work diligently towards my recovery. The progress towards change and living a new life has been a long road for me, but being a part of MetroHaven of Love has just made it so simple in ways that words cannot express. The people that are drawn towards MetroHaven, staff, volunteers and clients are definitely a God thing because of how my life is consistently touched and challenged with each person I come across here at the ministry. Metro Haven of Love gives hope to the hopeless and opportunities to build a new life of freedom from the past. The founder, Mrs. Agatha Odamah, is able to translate her passion, vision and dedication into practical teaching and skill development for those who benefit from this program. Her unwavering determination to help people is a true light to both those who are served and to others in our community. The enormity of people's needs nor limited funding have deterred her from offering hope, shelter and food to those in great need. I have known Mrs. Odamah for a number of years and I have the utmost confidence in her integrity and in her commitment to wisely manage all funds entrusted to this organization. I have seen the radiant joy in women's faces who have gone through this program. This is the concrete evidence that they have received new hope and new confidence in their capacity to build a better future.
I greet all in the name of Jesus.I was invited to bring "Faith Based,Life changing,Spirit filled"teachings to Metro Haven of Love care center as a volunteer several years past.I have been blissfully blessed to know,and see the Passion Sister Agatha Odamha have for the Men/Women of God's creation,and the Vision and Mission that he have Ordained her to pursue.She have been working diligently to go higher and higher.But she can not do it alone.She need the help of careing able people,who through prayer and giving,will experience blessings as they bless Metro Haven the work of God.This Ministry is going to be the geatest and most helpping thing that the homeless and hurting people have ever experienced.Yes we can!
Agatha Odamah and her family founded Metro Haven of Love Care Center. The unusual thing about that is that this family was from Nigeria and new to the U.S. They saw a great need in our country for a shelter to help rebuild the lives of those on the streets or in jail because of addiction, or destructive patterns in their lives. They have worked tirelessly for many years in their effort to support those with no support. They feed, clothe, train and disciple all who come through their doors with the intention of helping people return to rich and productive lives, and many have had such success! The success stories are profound and heartwarming!
