Causes: Civil Rights, Philanthropy, Voluntarism Promotion
Mission: Metro volunteers' mission is to mobilize and cultivate volunteers as a vital force in the denver metropolitan area.
Programs: Community support programs - disaster recovery and pro bono mental health: the organization received a temporary community development block grant for disaster recovery from the state of colorado. It should be noted that although the size of the cdbg dr contract is a significant portion of the organization's revenue, the vast majority of that revenue flows through the organization to contractors who are repairing homes (expenses are included in program supplies). The pro bono mental health counseling program engages skilled volunteers who provide free counseling services to low income residents who do not have access to mental health care. Revenue for the program is generated through foundation grant applications and individual donors. The funds are used to recruit, orient, connect and support volunteers.
