Mission: Mercy Housing is committed to creating stable, vibrant and healthy communities by developing, financing, and operating affordable program-enriched housing for families, seniors and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities.
Programs: We develop and manage affordable rental homes for low-income families and individuals. We currently house more than 3800 residents at 43 properties throughout Washington State. Twenty-seven of the properties are in the Puget Sound region?where there is the greatest need for affordable rents. For example, at our property in Kent, WA, rent for a 2 bedroom apartment for a family making 60% of the area medium income (or $43,140) is $760, compared to the fair market rent in the area of $923. And rents go down from there! We also offer services and programs to help our residents succeed; examples include: After-school tutoring and social activities; English-as-a-second-language classes; computer labs; and financial literacy training opportunities.
My mother lives in Mercy housing PNW and the place that she lives in is so nice and comfortable, the area is safe and the neighbors are all very kind. My mom has been treated and is still treated with great respect as are the others and with dignity.
When something goes wrong in the house, the maintenance man comes over as soon as possible to fix the problem and it is accomplished not only with professionalism, but also with a smile. Modern appliances, comfort of having your own home.
I cannot overstate how wonderful it is to have Mercy Housing. Without this, I don't know where my mom would be living.
