Programs: Mercy catholic medical center of southeastern pennsylvania has two acute-care hospitals, mercy fitzgerald hospital and mercy philadelphia hospital, whose history starts more than 90 years ago. Mercy fitzgerald hospital is a 188-bed teaching hospital located in darby, pa, which offers advanced acute care services in delaware county and southwest philadelphia and is consistently recognized for clinical excellence. Mercy philadelphia hospital is a 157-bed community teaching hospital serving the communities of west philadelphia. Mercy philadelphia has provided high-quality, compassionate healthcare services in a broad range of specialties, education and outreach. Both hospitals provide free care, subsidize the care of medicare and medicaid patients where the government reimbursement is below cost, and sponsor health programs and activities for the community. These programs include wellness programs, community education programs, special programs for the elderly, handicapped, medically underserved and a variety of broad community support activities. The hospitals offer a full range of services in an inpatient and outpatient setting as well as 24 hour emergency care, surgical services, cancer care, heart and stroke care, bariatrics, among many other health care services.
