This is the second year i have tried donating food to the food warehouse. Both times no one returns your calls. Last year i drove there and there was someone outside the warehouse and i left my boxes of food with them. This year i am looking elsewhere to donate and it is a shame that people want to donate and no one will return your calls to set up a delivery date, Sad
One of the best and most well run charitable organizations I have ever been involved with.

An exceptionally well-organized group that takes to heart its mission statement of feeding the hungry. The CFW actually goes further by providing programs and assistance to those in the community beyond providing food and it has been an honor to work with such fine people.
This organization helps so many residents of Mercer County. Without the dedicated staff and volunteers we would not be able to service the people who need the help.
I'm proud to say I am a board member.

Read moreFor the past several years I have served as a board member for the CFW. This has provided me the opportunity to witness firsthand the excellent work of the staff as well as the volunteers who help feed the hungry in our community. Before my appointment to the board, I was not aware of the size of the need in our community and the size of the operation required to meet that need. This organization does an outstanding job matching the resources available to feed the hungry with the people who are the hungriest...And doing it in an upbeat and caring way.

The dedicated staff and volunteers of this organization work tirelessly to make sure that food is obtained, properly stored and distributed to people in need living and working in this community.
I have been involved with the Warehouse for the past 9 years as a volunteer and board member. I can't say enough positive things about this outstanding nonprofit. With only 6.5 employees and many volunteers, they provide , through 34 member agencies, food for 4,000 households a month in Mercer County. I know of no other local agency that can claim this kind of impact on so many people. They are truly deserving of a top rating and could benefit greatly from the media package.

As a board member and frequent volunteer, I cannot say enough about this quality organization. They are wise stewards of their money, preferring to give to their clients rather than padding their salaries. There are only enough employees to accomplish what they need to do instead of being top heavy as many organizations are. A great deal of work is done by volunteers, such as the job of receptionist and many computer tasks. They truly deserve the designation of top non-profit.
CFWMC is amazing for the number of people they touch through the various programs they sponsor; food distribution to food pantries, backpack for children, military share, senior program as well as meal programs that serves the body and the social needs.

Inadequate access to wholesome and nutritional food is a major problem in our county. The Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County has a dedicated staff and the support of the community whose aim is to meet this most basic human need. The efforts of CFWMC reach most importantly to those most in need, including low income, elderly, school children and military families. Without CFWMC these individuals in particular would experience a greatly reduced quality of life relating to health, education and dignity.
Very proud to be a part of this organization, where every volunteer has a caring heart for the community to bring an end to hunger!

This is a great non-profit, they help so many people in the community. The staff is always ontop of everything that they do. I would recommend them to anyone that wants to volunteer or donate money towards the cause to raise awareness of hunger. 5 stars is not enough to say how much they do and how much they mean to the community.

I have been a part of this organization for several years, as a volunteer working on the floor as well as a board member and I cannot say enough good things about the staff and their genuine heartfelt passion for their role and mission in serving others with such selflessness. It is sad to see the need remain in that we still have so many people faced with hunger but it's rewarding to know organizations like the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County exist to support that need.

Community Food Warehouse, where do I start? Mercer County is fortunate or should I say blessed to have two women leading the battle to fight hunger in Mercer County. Lori Weston and Mimi Prada are an awesome twosome. They are dedicated. They are innovated. They are respected. Respect earned in their day to day operations, respect for their diligence to manage every dollar, respect for their kindness, ethics, empathy and genuine concern for others and they are fun to be around. Believe me, they embrace every opportunity to tell their story; that of our County's needy, our unemployed, underemployed, children, seniors, families who are hungry. Through their 33 member agencies food is distributed throughout our county. CFW has initiated programs to meet the various needs in our community. Both Lori, Mimi and their staff schedule events, food drives and fundraisers. Empty Bowl and the Hunger Race have been enthusiastically supported by our community. It is not an overstatement to say CFW has made the difference in so many lives in Mercer County. God bless these ladies and staff for their work. It is truly a labor of love. They have made my community a better place and I say that with great pride and affection.
The Community Food Warehouse serves over 4,200 families in Mercer County through its array of programs. It is even piloting a fresh milk program for those in need. It is a cornerstone in our community and strives to become better each day. It has a great staff and its following of volunteers grows more and more every year!
The Community Food Warehouse has a broad and far reaching vision to address the significant food insecurity needs in Mercer County. Traditional food programs are being supplemented with exciting new programs that include produce and dairy products. The mission of the CFW includes food distribution to 34 food pantries, helping over 800 children with the Back Pack Food Program, and distributing food to food insecure seniors. And never resting on what they have done, the CFW is always looking for new needs, new ways to help, and new resourcing to meet the needs. The CFW is an important part of the Mercer County community.
My experience with the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County has always been a positive and uplifting. They have the most dedicated and caring staff I have ever had the pleasure of working with. When I started volunteering with them I was amazed at the number of people in our community that benefit from this organization. I don't know what the many children and adults who depend on them for their meals would be doing. This is a wonderful organization and we are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful organization within Mercer County.
I have a lot of experience working with charities and nonprofits and the Community Food Warehouse far exceeds the rest! The organizational skills matched with the care and kindness of all staff members is insurmountable. Then when you think of how many people they help on a day to day basis it can bring a tear to your eye. Thank you CFW for everything that you do for our community!
This is one of the greatest operations I have ever witnessed!! The entire team has their complete heart and soul in to their efforts to make our community a better place. They lead by example. Our community is certainly a better place because of the CFW and their team!
I've been a board member and volunteer for many years with CFW. What engages us is the pure mission of those who run this organization. They are focused on making sure that no child or family member goes to sleep feeling hungry. This organization serves over 8000 people in our community. Countless hours are spent in the evenings and weekends raising funds for this community including, Empty Bowls, Run to End Hunger and Each One Feed One.
When food is donated, they have pools of volunteers from different organizations willing to come and separate and organize all of it. More volunteers arrive once a week for the backpack program which provides much needed nourishment to children over the weekend when the lunch program is not readily available.
They look for creative ways to bring this need to the community and I could not be prouder working with this organization.

I've been associated with CFW for over 7 years now working as a Board Member. The care and sincerity of the staff to leave no stone unturned to provide much needed nourishment is heartwarming. They get so excited when they have donations and grants applied to their effort. The food goes to weekend Backpack Programs to supply food to children in need. The elderly can apply for a monthly food donation as well. The CFW uses their creativity for community projects and fund raisers. You would think this could burn them out but with every small victory they become more energized in their mission to give food to the hungry. Blessings to CFW.
