I personally have had an incredible experience with the Meow Now Organization on a number of occasions. When I first found them, in my search to find help with feral cats around my house - they were very responsive and walked me through the steps of what it meant to TNVR. After trapping my first cat - I was hooked in wanting to trap all ferals that came around. Chad and the others have made it such a positive experience, I tell everyone about the process and encourage people to do their part to get involved. Such a small sacrifice that has a HUGE impact in cutting down on the population of stray cats. It's a win win all the way around, especially for the cats. I've had interaction with Chat and the group on a number of occasions and all I can say is class act all the way around!

I have had a more than awesome experience with Meow Now, and I'm amazed at the impact they've had in our community with the feral cats. I know they do the numbers, but I seriously can't imagine the positive impact they've given to stopping the over population. But not just that, but equally impressive is the way they do it. From start to finish, my first interaction with the group was so positive. My initial message was responded to quickly, followed by quick delivery of traps, and help with feeling more confident about trapping, as I was nervous. The 2 cats I trapped were picked up quickly and returned a couple days later. I'm so relieved and happy to be caring for 2 feral cats that I know will not be creating more litters and so on and so on. Great GREAT organization!!!
MEOW NOW has assisted me in stabilizing the feral cat community that I care for, and other communities in my area. They came out one weekend and were able to take 7 cats for TNVR. We are awaiting their additional help in completing those cats in our community that have not yet trapped. The ones that have gone through their program have helped to calm down the cats overall. Thank you MEOW NOW!
I have rescued one kitten from my yard to be a guardian to. I respect and admire the work MeowNow does to help the cats in our community!
We had over 30 feral cats on our street, Meow now came out and we got them all; I am still taking care of 10 of those cats they are no longer feral I can pet them, pick some of them up and they love attention and special treats Meow Now is the greatest
Meow Now does a splendid community service that many do not know about. They helped 2 mama cats and together with their 6 kittens brought and supplied the traps, picked up the cats, fixed, then returned them all in good health. They never asked once for a donation. Of course, a donation did follow. Many of my feline foundlings have gone on to hopefully other homes, but 2 remain in my yard-home. Many thanks to Meow Now. Job well done.
We live in a county of 900,000 people and an estimated 100,000 free-roaming cats. These are cats that have no owner and have been the victim of irresponsible people who do not have their animals spayed or neutered. Some of these people move and leave these animals behind to try and survive on their own. MEOW Now is a most remarkable organization. They are now in their fourth year of operations and have spayed/neutered/vaccinated and ear-tipped (TNVR).
MEOW Now has TNVR'd over 4,300 cats. These cats are now living in their colonies and are careed for by their caregivers. They are provided two meals a day and fresh water. The community is protected because these animals are vaccinated for rabies and distemper. This is something they otherwise never have received without MEOW Now. Equally these are cats who no longer are reproducing.
MEOW Now is the first and only organization in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area of Florida that does this grass root program. Simply amazing group of people and volunteers. I believe there is a special play in Heaven for all of those who are involved in helping these poor animals.
Meow Now is my favorite local charity. The work that they do not only saves money for the community but also saves the lives of countless feral cats. I wish there were more people like these wonderful volunteers to help do some good for these precious animals.
Meow Now not only helped me with our neighborhood feral cat population, but they have helped friends I referred to them. They are the best.
MeowNow is amazing. We had some community cat chaos in May of 2017. This review is from that time. At the peak, we had 21 kittens and 15 adult cats. 19 of kittens are now either up for adoption or already adopted, 2 were too used to being outside to be socialized & adopted. In one weekend, we caught 14 cats to TNVR, including the 2 feral kittens. We will work with MeowNow to catch the 3 we missed on the next TNVR date. Without MeowNow we were down to 2 options that I was aware of, Animal Services or attempt to TNVR on our own (which was a financial and logistical nightmare). Patience was the key for everyone. Chad and Amber were very patient & extremely kind. They answered all our questions, explained the process & expectations. With this program, we stopped the cycle of kittens. Now the community cats will live out their lives in peace and the population won’t grow. MeowNow Works! Sincerely Nancy H.
This amazing, hard working non profit, volunteer based organizations has provided TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) to nearly 4,000 free-roaming, community cats in Pinellas County in only 3 years of operation. MEOW Now's mission is to manage and end the overpopulation of community cats in a humane way that works. 98% of all donations go directly to program services. Donors, volunteers and community/corporate support is greatly needed.
You’ve probably seen them on the streets, around stores and dumpsters, maybe even wandering your neighborhood: free-roaming cats. But what to do about them? Rather than simply look away, MEOW Now formed to address and answer that question.
“MEOW” stands for Managing and Ending Overpopulation Wisely. Free-roaming community cats are trapped, neutered, vaccinated and returned to their outdoor homes, where a volunteer human caregiver provides food, water, and oversees the cats’ health. TNVR (trap-neuter-vaccinate-return) has long been practiced in communities across the country and around the world, but even with an estimated 100,000+ community cats roaming Pinellas County, it was illegal – until a small group of concerned citizens began lobbying for that to change.
It took nearly two years of negotiation, but in 2014, Pinellas County Commissioners agreed to a three-year trial run of TNVR. With one paid employee and a group of volunteers willing to brave the Florida heat, winds and rain to trap, transport, house, and feed community cats while they awaited and then recovered from surgery, several thousand have thus far been spayed and neutered – helping populations stabilize and then decline over time. Behaviors like spraying, hunting and fighting for food, territory, and mates are reduced or eliminated as the cats reside peacefully in their managed “colonies.”
Months before the trial run was scheduled to end, County Commissioners were impressed enough with MEOW Now’s results to unanimously approve TNVR as the codified method of community cat management. And this is just the beginning. There are tens of thousands of cats still needing services.
Partnering with the SPCA Tampa Bay, Humane Society Pinellas and working alongside Pinellas County Animal Services, MEOW Now has seen shelter intake of cats decline as TNVR increases. This means fewer unnecessary deaths for healthy cats, along with taxpayer savings. MEOW Now assists community cat caregivers in both residential and commercial locations, many of whom cannot afford the spay/neuter surgeries – so besides the legwork, MEOW Now provides most of the funds and is grateful to the low-cost, non-profit surgery providers in both Pinellas and Hillsborough counties who help make that more affordable.
MEOW Now also runs a foster program for kittens found in the field who are too sick or small for immediate surgery. This has resulted in hundreds of kittens being socialized and placed in forever homes rather than returned to the outdoors.
TNVR plus fostering and adoption: good for the cats, their caregivers, and all citizens who appreciate healthier, fewer free-roaming cats in their communities. MEOW Now: an example of how a handful of determined and dedicated citizens can tackle a daunting task, change local law, and improve lives – just because they care.
