Akari is the most dedicated person I have met in the field. She truly loves her cats and it shows . I met her over a year ago when I was just starting to rescue feral cats and she was very helpful and even helped me get one of my kittens adopted out. She is caring and compassionate and if you adopt from her she makes sure it’s a good fit and she will always take the cat ⬛ back if things don’t work out. I have learned alot from her over the year and I know she will continue to be a great non profit organization because she has a heart ❤️ of gold and you can see it with how well her cats are cared for and how she treats people. She is wonderful!
Akari cares very much for the cats and kitties in her care at Meow Haven Kitty Rescue. The rescue is just her and foster volunteers. She works with cats and kittens that are shy or scared and helps them blossom into wonderful, confident, loving companions. If not for Meow Haven Kitty Rescue, many loving cats and kittens would have been returned to the streets after being fixed because shelters do not have the time to socialize shy kitties. Akari is adept at seeing potential in scared, hissy kittens and is very encouraging and supportive with her foster volunteers. I fostered a litter in 2023 for Akari and was unsure about the potential to socialize them becase they were very hissy, spitty, and scared and past the ideal socialization age. Akari was very encouraging and trusted her gut about the kittens even when I questioned whether foster was the right choice for them. I am so glad she encouraged me to try because the kittens ended up becoming SO affectionate, confident, and with big personalities! Total 180 turnaround! I learned a lot and have more confidence in my ability to
help shy kitties now. I am proud to have fostered kitties for Meow Haven Kitty Rescue because the kittens who were very scared, hissy, and about to be returned to the outdoors are now all healthy, confident adults in loving homes. Meow Haven Kitty Rescue is a worthy cause for donation dollars or volunteer hours.

Thanks to Akari and MHKR I have two of the sweetest, most adorable fluffs residing in my home right now. I was originally going to adopt only one since I already had two but Akari convinced me that if I was going to adopt one I really needed to adopt his brother as well and that wound up being the best possible decision for me, my partner, and our whole furry collective. My boys are so utterly and completely bonded and every time I see the two of them hanging out together I realize how thankful I am to have adopted them both. And here’s the thing - they were fostered with such love and care that they truly are the sweetest boys on the face of the planet. Part of it is obviously their natures but since they were given the opportunity to thrive in such a loving household prior to my adoption of them they themselves are as sweet and loving as can be. Such a gift for our household and I will always be profoundly grateful that I just happened to look into that pet store window when MHKR was having an adoption fair.
I adopted two rescue kitties from MHKR about 1.5 years ago. Since then, Akari has stayed in touch with me and been a very helpful resource whenever I have questions about my cats. She is very passionate about making sure all her kitties are doing well, even after they find their forever homes.

We adopted our new kittens from Meow Heaven a year after our 19yo kitty passed. These were feral kittens from the same litter (but fortunately very gentle) who needed a lot of love and socialization. 5 months later they’re loving and playful and bring our family lots of joy! Akari was very helpful throughout the socialization process. We kept them in our bathroom for a couple of months, then bathroom + bedroom for a month and now they finally have reign over the whole house! I still update Akari with photos of how the boys are doing and she sends me pics of new kittens available for adoption to tempt me! So far I have resisted the urge, lol! I could not have had a better experience with our adoption process. I got to see photos/exchange texts with Akari ahead of time then met the kittens on a weekday evening at their foster home, and then I came back a few days later to bring them home. Akari is very passionate about the work she does and it shows!
This rescue does amazing work and saves lives! This is my 2nd time working with Akari to find a forever home for a kitty I rescued from the streets and fostered. Akari has a lot of passion and dedication. It’s because of her work that kitties like Miracle (adoption success story) and Fantasia (awaiting adoption) can have a chance at life in a loving home.
This sweet guy had such a rough life, but a positive, loving stay at Meow Haven turned him into a house kitty who is now the best buddy of my resident boy who badly needed a friend after his older playmates died. He uses all the sweetness he learned by the warm hands of his foster to charm us all. So much amazing work by such a small rescue! I don't know how she does it.
Excellent organization. Akari even came to my house twice for follow up “rescues” when my new adoptees were hiding in my house and I couldn’t find them. The kitties are healthy and happy.
Meow Haven Kitty Rescue saved my cats life! He was tied up above a giant pit of hungry alligators and sharks, as the evil super villain, "the Great Green Bean" had done this to him! But the cats of Meow Haven Kitty Rescue all came together like it was a super hero movie and saved my precious GrinkleFink (that's my cats name) from The Great Green Bean, 10/10, couldn't recommend them enough!
This cured my cat's lung cancer, but made him really really autistic though. He used to be a cigarette addicted, non autistic cat whos wife just left him, to the super duper healthy slightly autistic kitty kat. dono y they took his balls though. Heres a pic.
Meow Haven Kitty Rescue is the best. It has the most wonderful and caring people. I had found a very friendly kitty which was visiting my backyard regularly unfortunately I was not able to keep it. I reached out to many well known rescues for help to get it adopted, As it was not safe in my area with many coyote's around. All other rescues were unable to help except Meow Haven Kitty Rescue who opened their hearts and home to the lovely kitty . Now I see the kitty is adopted and living her life to the fullest. Such generous Rescues need to be encouraged. Very grateful for this lovely Rescue. Please donate, volunteer and adopt from them.
I adopted Scottie in Feb 2024. I was connected with Meow Haven Kitty Rescue when I reached out to The Dancing Cat; I am disabled with chronic illness, and was looking for a lower energy cat that would get along with my dog and cat. They didn’t have a good match for me, but had a feeling that MHKR would! Akari introduced me to multiple foster cats but anticipated that Scottie was the best match for me. We chatted for quite a long time while she answered all my questions and gave me time to feel comfortable and confident before taking Scottie home. Scottie is the best match for us! 2.5 months later and she has warmed up so much in our home, plays daily with our other cat and sleeps on our bed! I’m so thankful to MHKR!
I’ve heard many wonderful things about MHKR from a friend who loves animals dearly. She cares for them like they are her babies and would always put their well-being first. So, when she started raving about how great MHKR has been to our community. I have no doubt that it is true. Not a lot of non-profit organization makes it to her list. Meow haven kitty rescue is the best, I have been looking for TNRs appointments at locals shelter for many months but no luck, and kittens are turned away by locals shelters. I found akari on Facebook and helped me with TRNS to save kitties in need. I decided to help her volunteer whenever she needs.

I felt very comfortable talking with Akari over several weeks before choosing to adopt lovely little Tera (pictured). It broke my heart knowing that black cats are less desired because look at how adorable she is! She’s so shiny, cuddly, her eyes and tongue POP, she’s playful, purrs a lot, and has adjusted beautifully to her forever home. I am very grateful to Akari and Meow Haven as a whole for taking such good care of their rescue felines (including getting their tests, vaccines, spay/neuter, and litter box training) and taking the time to educate me, be patient with my process and questions, and provide me with as much physical help as possible in adopting my precious baby.
Tera has provided me so much warmth and light in stressful and uncertain times, and I am spoiling the heck out of her! I would be willing to adopt another cat/kitten from Meow Haven in the future, and would recommend them to friends and family.
Akari is a wonderful person that helps cats in need. She has a kind heart and goes all out to rescue cats that are injured or need help. She shelters them and takes them in until they are well. Meow Haven Kitty Rescue is an amazing service. The kittens are rescued and then treated like royalty. Akari is able nurture and care for her kittens as though they are her own children with a sense of passion and dedication to there livelyhood. Through her care and dedication she is ultimately able to find them a home where they will flourish and be brought into loving houses. She loves her kitties and is able to bring them into a state of mind of happiness and a sense of being loved . The kittens she rescues go on to lead happy lives because she goes the extra mile to find homes that are the right fit for the kitties.
Akari and Meow Haven Kitty Rescue came to the... rescue!
We rescued three siamese kittens from a neighbor's roof and had them fixed/vaccinated, then struggled to find the right team to socialize them. The mother was very aggressive and the kittens didn't have any human contact besides an occasional bit of cat food so we weren't sure how quickly they would get used to people.
Akari has done a masterful job in just a few days! They're already purring and sitting on laps.
Next step is to their furever homes.
Meow haven kitty rescue helped us as first time adopters of cats to be well informed of our capabilities and found a match that were well suited to our lifestyle. She was able to let us meet the cats a few times beforehand before adopting so the little kitties would get used to us. She and her partner were able to transport the cats to our house safely and do a home check to make sure there weren’t hazards for our new occupants. Meowhaven kitty rescue still checks in to see how the acclimation process is going. We are so glad to welcome our new furry friends into our home
