Programs: Standish-hickey state recreation area: successfully negotiated a two year renewal of the standish-hickey sra operating agreement. Through this agreement mapa continues to provide visitor services, maintenance, educational programs, and administration of this park. In addition mapa started a pilot internship program at standish-hickey sra with humboldt state university. Mapa raised significant funds for park improvement projects in 2016:-van damme, spring ranch barns project: $15,700-ford house restoration: $9,460-mendocino headlands state park: $27,611 for the current park improvement project, the public restrooms on main street. -mackerricher state park: $17,000 for the campfire center and the lake cleone boardwalk. Educational programs: mapa donated $25,000 toward the salaries of two seasonal interpreters and paid for program supplies. Hired a new ford house manager to oversee the visitor center and museum operations, including the living history field trip program. Received a social media grant from california state parks foundation. Completed set up of a point of sale system for three visitor centers, with equipment provided from a 2014 grant. Successful fundraising events: the world championship abalone cook-off and the ford house progressive dinner.
