Mission: Men stopping violence provides organizations, communities and individuals with the knowledge and tools to move men to act to prevent violence against women and girls.

Programs: Training and community education: msv provides an average of 30 presentations each year to religious institutions, colleges, schools, criminal justice organizations, other nonprofits, corporations, government agencies, civic organizations and media. Having delivered training and consultation in forty-plus states, washington dc, europe, asia, africa, canada, and the caribbean, msv understands that each community and organization faces unique challenges. Our diverse and skilled training team is prepared to meet the needs of the organization or community making the request.

mens education and resource program: msv directly intervenes with more than 2,000 men per year through telephone contacts, orientation classes, basic domestic violence education classes and more in-depth 24-week classes. Classes are provided for men who need to learn ways to be in relationships without using emotional, physical or other forms of abuse. Reliable data including police reports, witness statements and emergency room reports indicate that men are the aggressors in over 75 percent of incidents of interpersonal violence. Many cases go unreported and many more behaviors that men use should be incorporated into the category of abusive behavior. In fact, many men who come to msv have never physically struck another person in a relationship. They have, however, used a wide range of controlling and abusive behaviors over a sustained period of time establishing a pattern and climate of fear.

community restoration program (crp): the purpose of this program is to provide a dynamic space for men, primarily men who have completed msvs 24-week mens intervention program, to become involved in organizing to prevent violence against women and girls. Crp participants engage in a wide-range of activities including: educating the community about violence against women; staffing information tables at community events; assisting with the facilitation of msvs mens education classes; and monitoring and taking action on legislation that can impact womens safety and justice.
