Mission: The mission of memphis leadership foundation is to proclaim the gospel to the entire city by empowering leaders and developing ministries and programs that focus on the needs of under-resourced people and communities.
Programs: Economic opportunities ("eo") serves under-resourced men and women who face daunting employability barriers, such as ex-offenders and the chronically unemployed or underemployed. The eo ministry provides an array of evidence-based instructional and training services, to include employment-readiness training, supportive counseling, industry-recognized certifications, financial literacy, on-the-job training, job-search assistance, and placement in jobs that pay sustainable wages and provide economic empowerment. redzone ministries ("rz") serves urban youth through outreach club, bible study, academic and educational enrichment. The redzone is the age where adolescents have to make critical decisions that affect the rest of their lives. Approximate number served 1,000.
the transportation ministry ("tm") provides transportation services to memphis leadership foundation and its partner/ affiliate ministries in buses and large vans transporting youth served by mlf ministries to after-school and weekend activities throughout the city. other general ministries providing discipleship of christian principles to various groups of at risk urban youth and adults including the following specific ministries: *multi-national ministries ("mnm") mnm shows kindness to refugees and immigrant families, the vast majority of which are low-income with limited english-speaking ability, using a number of weekly academic and social programs for all ages, mnm helps these families to find their way, understand this culture, achieve academic success, and feel the love of god. *repairing the breach ("rtb")rtb is building a foundation for many generations in urban unchurched youth with a mission to build a foundation of spiritual adeptness, social competence and academic excellence with youth in specific under resourced neighborhoods by serving youth who have inherited generations of economic and academic depravity. Rtb is repairing the breach that hinders young people from reaching their full potential to become productive citizens of society through various in school and after school programs. *las americas ("las") las is serving latino youth and children of all ages to be successful students, to prepare for their futures and to help them develop a relationship with christ that will follow them into adulthood: by empowering them through educational, outreach, recreational and character building programs. *heart to heart ("h2h")h2h seeks to meet the spiritual needs of more than 350 youth who are served by an organization that provides residential programs for children with severe or emotional behavioral problems through a variety of spiritually-inspired activities for youth participation, including chapel, bible study, worship services, as well as individual pastoral counseling. *christ fellowship ("cf")cf exists to foster positive changes in the life of at risk youth by going where kids are, building positive christ centered relationships, volunteering in schools, providing after school programming and engaging them in various enrichment activities in order to advance the kingdom of god against the darkness of this world by loving god, embodying god's love for each-other and proclaiming god's love to the world in word and deed. *refugee empowerment program ("rep")rep addresses the unique needs and concerns of the refugee population of memphis, tennessee through innovative empowerment programs and creative community outreach. *clayborn temple restoration project ("ctrp")ctpr creates a place that honors the unique history of the clayborn temple church and the people who worked, worshipped, and organized there and is dedicated to creating a place that responds respectfully to memphis' growth and evolution, particularly the changes coming in the immediate neighborhood. Total served for these various programs is approximately 11,000.
