It was such a relief to find an organization that would take perfectly good items! I tell everyone about the great work this organization does.
Medical missionaries is a very respectable organization in which they help people around the world by giving them materials if they have just been in a disaster. I have been involved in medical missionary helping them load trucks and packing hygiene equipment.
As a volunteer for many years, I've seen how medical missionaries has touched and improved so many live here in Manassas, VA, the whole US, and multiple countries. By collecting and distributing durable medical goods and equipment, this equipment is a life saver to many in need, plus it saves quality supplies from the landfill. Through many donations of hygiene products, food and equipment, many lives are strengthened and improved. I'm very proud to be helping others through medical missionaries. We are grateful to all our supporters and welcome new ones.

I love this all volunteer organization that meets the needs of the poorest of the poor throughout the US and overseas. Over 20 years ago, Dr. Irwin started helping in Haiti by building a clinic, providing immunizations, starting a fluoride treatment program, nutrition programs and training the local people to sustain these programs.
Locally and throughout the United States, donations of food, clothing, medical equipment, household items, books, etc., are sorted and sent to many impoverished areas. Food pantries are stocked from our donations.
We even deliver!
At Christmastime we collect and donate new and almost new toys to children that would otherwise not receive a gift.
Working with Medical Missionaries for the last 20 years has opened my eyes and heart to the poverty suffered by many. Medical Missionaries strives to alleviate this poverty, and support and improve the quality of life for many.
A quality organization of many hard working volunteers making a difference !
Medical Missionaries is one of the few nonprofits that fully embodies its mission statement, where action meets its words. The all volunteer organization fulfills local, national, and global unmet needs. When helping to load up a sea container full of medical equipment and supplies you see first hand the sheer volume of people every item will make in the lives of many. It’s a beautiful organization truly committed to helping people in need.

My husband and I first became involved with Medical Missionaries when we were looking to donate medical equipment that was still useable, but no longer needed. We met a dedicated and caring group of volunteers that provide help with food, medical equipment and other items to people who need help in dire circumstances. Imagine needing a walker, wheelchair or other medical equipment to help yourself or a family member or friend have a better quality of life....only to discover insurance ( if you have it at all) will not pay or require hefty copays you cannot afford? Medical Missionaries fills that gap and truly makes a difference both locally and around the world! After learning more about the organization we have helped in many ways to support their mission and would encourage others to do the same. You will receive so much more than you give.
Incredible organization that provides much needed medical care and supplies. They also provide much needed food, clothing, and other items to communities in Virginia.
Medical Missionaries is a wonderful organization built on a foundation of integrity and kindness. I am honored to support their mission and appreciate all of the volunteers who provide the much needed service and supplies.
The Medical Missionaries is an amazing organization. I always look throughout the year for deals on children's toys, blankets, and coats to donate. Thanks for doing what you DO!
My family and I absolutely love Medical Missionaries. This was the ONLY facility that would accept the home care equipment and products that we had left after the death of two elderly family members following their long declines from dementia and congestive heart failure. In addition to every kind of durable medical equipment under the sun, we had carloads of hygiene, wound care, and personal comfort products, as well as carloads of household goods, bedding, and clothing in good-to-excellent condition. We were so grateful to Medical Missionaries for their ability to give additional life to things that had made our family members safe and comfortable during their final years. Thank you, thank you!
The Medical Missionaries stand as a shining example of selfless compassion and unwavering commitment to alleviating suffering worldwide. Their work transcends borders, bringing critical medical care and humanitarian aid to some of the most underserved and vulnerable communities, particularly in third-world countries where resources are scarce and the need is dire.
What truly sets Medical Missionaries apart is their holistic approach to service. They don’t merely address immediate health concerns but work tirelessly to build sustainable health systems, empower local communities, and improve the overall quality of life. Whether it’s through providing essential medical supplies, or offering training to local healthcare providers, their efforts create a lasting impact that echoes long after they have left.
The compassion of the Medical Missionaries is evident in every mission they undertake. They treat each patient with dignity and respect, recognizing the intrinsic worth of every individual, regardless of their circumstances. Their work is not just about healing the body but also about restoring hope, dignity, and a sense of possibility to those who have often been forgotten by the world.
In a world where inequality and poverty can seem overwhelming, the Medical Missionaries offer a beacon of hope. They remind us that, through acts of kindness and dedication, we can make a difference. Their work is a testament to the power of compassion, and they inspire others to join in the fight against global health disparities.
**Review for Medical Missionaries**
Medical Missionaries always have an abundance of supplies and gently used durable medical equipment. They are incredibly generous with the community, providing essential items such as diapers and other necessities. Their flexible hours from 8 AM to noon make it easy for people to access their services. We are truly thankful to have such a valuable resource in our area.
I wish more people knew about them to encourage more recycling and less waste for gently used durable medical equipment in the area.
A great organization that supports both locals and those in other countries. I still don't know how they can provide so much help without having any paid staff. Love those volunteers!!
Check out their website at https://www.medicalmissionaries.org, or subscribe to their newsletter at https://medmissionaries.dm.networkforgood.com/forms/mm-web-site
Medical Missionaries does amazing work both nationally and internationally. Their team of experienced medical professionals and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that those in need get what they need and are treated with dignity and respect. I had the chance to personally pack some trucks with donations and was blown away by the effort and skill required in performing this task; however, MM made it look easy! If you are looking to get involved in donating or volunteering to help those in medical need get the equipment, food, and supplies they require, look no further!
I am extremely grateful to have learned about Medical Missionaries, Inc. When my dad became bedridden I had no idea where to even start to look for hospital beds not to mention what they would cost us. Lo and behold, Medical Missionaries had one for us and offered other items that had not even occurred to me - bedside commode, wheelchair, etc. I was new at this caregiver role and besides the medical equipment, Medical Missionaries provided me with guidance which gave me the confidence to fully support my dad during his last months. I cannot say enough great things about this NonProfit organization except for THANK YOU!
Love this organization. Dr Irwin rocks! A small organization with an outsized effect. They help locally in Norther Virginia, and further out in Appalachia region. They send containers of medical supplies to Africa, South America and the Caribbean. Finally they run St. Joseph Clinic in Haiti, where they provide health care to hundreds of people monthly. 5 stars is too few for Medical Missionaries.
I started working with Medical Missionaries in 2012. Since then, I have met so many great doctors and collaborators that put a lot of work into helping those in need.
Each trip is an adventure. Like driving in rough terrain to crossing a flooded creek. The appreciation of the people makes it all worth it!
After hearing the interpreter repeat a sentence, I've learned a few words in creole like "youn gren-n de fwa pa jou", which means, "one pill per day". I really enjoy helping out and interacting with the people.
I hope that we are able to do it again!
I am so grateful for Medical Missionaries and the impact they have on our communities and around the world. They are so thoughtful with every cent donated stretching each dollar.
I have been volunteering with Medical Missionaries for 4 years because I fell in love with the mission.
I am a family physician who has participated with mission trips to the Dominican Republic for 20 years. Medical Missionaries gave me my initial training and support to get this mission started. I am deeply indebted to them for helping me avoid many common pitfalls and prepare to do this blessed work. They continue to be a wonderful organization!
I am a realtor and I make sure that all Medical Supplies, Crutches, Walkers, etc are donated when I am working with a home sale. My husband is a surgeon and he has traveled on 8 Medical Mission trips to Banica in the DR and Haiti and knows the great work that this organization provides. Coats and Linens are collected for Southwest VA and West Virginia needy families. They even host a town for Christmas in West Virginia where families cannot afford gifts. Dr. Gil Irwin and his staff of volunteers does Herculean work to provide for those in need in our community as well as throughout south West VA and West Virginia and hurricane relief world wide. Shipments are also sent to Africa and Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Please support this non profit, they do amazing work for those near and far. Lynn O'Neill RE/MAX Gateway
Medical Missionaries help all people especially the poorest of the poor. The volunteers (none who get paid) work many hours picking up donations, sorting through them and then distributing them to those who need them. We support a clinic in Haiti. We send many sea containers places like Africa filled with medical supplies, clothes etc. We support food pantries. We send items to an Indian reservation. Anyone can come by our facility if in need. People have come for wheelchairs, canes, crutches, clothes, diapers etc. Whatever you need, we probably have it and we give it to you. You can rest assure that if you donate to this organization it will be put to excellent use.

I have been volunteering for Medical Missionaries for over twenty years. I have participated in numerous surgical trips, where we operate on the poorest of the poor. Had it not been for this organization these people would never get taken care of. We also provide medical supplies and equipment, medicines, food and clothing to people all around the world.
Medical Missionaries participates in many endeavors, taking care of people here in the US and in other parts of the world.
The ladies of the parish of St. Agnes Church in Irwin, PA are grateful for Medical Missionaries. They make sleeping mats out of plastic bags and needed a place to donate them. Medical Missionaries distributes them to the people who need them most. It is a great partnership!
Medical Missionaries is an incredible organization. I worked with them in Haiti from 2017-2018, and I saw firsthand how their support went directly to the people on the ground. They support Klinik San Josef as the primary medical support for a large community in the historically poor and malnourished Central Plateau, and their work is well-known and respected throughout the region. Few organizations have managed to maintain the consistency and community integration that they have. Much of Medical Missionaries' success comes from the simple fact that people in the community trust them. It's a kind of trust that only comes with consistent engagement over a long period of time. In short, I think incredibly highly of Medical Missionaries, and I have seen their work firsthand.
Have volunteered with this awesome organization for over 5 years. The organization focuses on helping the needy in the US, and around the world with particular focus in Haiti. This is an amazing organization with no paid employees -- Everyone is a volunteer!
I have been acquainted with Medical Missionaries since I began volunteering with them in 2015, first sorting clothing donations, then participating in a medical mission trip to Dominican Republic and Haiti, and eventually helping organize volunteers for and logistical aspects of these medical mission trips. In my capacity as a volunteer, I have seen firsthand the good work of Medical Missionaries. Dr. Irwin’s dedication and tireless efforts to serve the poor as well as those in crisis due to disasters, whether internationally, in the USA or right in his community, is truly inspiring. After domestic natural disasters, I have seen him head out on long road trips with a truckload of donations determined to get help to where it is needed regardless of distance. The clinic he established in Haiti years ago has helped countless Haitians have healthcare they would not have had access to otherwise. This is an organization genuinely focused on serving those in need.
Worked here 2008-2009 at the clinic in Thomassique and have stayed involved since in a variety of volunteer capacities. Medical Missionaries is able to stretch its budget to continue to provide health care and public health services to a community to which it has been committed for well over a decade, operating with little to no overhead within an extremely challenging environment.
I am a newcomer with Medical Missionaries. I was looking for a place to d0nate supplies due to the recent death of my daughter, Monica. Sr. Andrea at Benedictine Monastery put me in touch with Dr. Gil Irwin. I was truly impressed and hope to become more involved as time goes on. They are truly a kind, easy to work with group of people. From what I can see, on my brief encounters, they deserve whatever awards you have to offer. Signed, Marge Ruth
Gil Irwin is one of the finest men and humanitarian on our earth for those suffering needlessly. I spent years under his personal care in his private practice, Manassas VA.
His week was equally divided; caring for patients with the most complex of cases, and mine was very complex! When doing his "Humanitarian work," traveling to treat others in need or gathering equipment, typically on Wednesdays, he was fulfilling his heart and deep compassion for others. I stand to tell the world
Medical Missionaries is by far the most dedicated non profit organization I have the opportunity to work with. Dr Gil Irwin is a perfect model of a giving individual, , , . His enthusiasm and continued creativity to deliver goods to the poorest of the poor is a miracle. No one is more giving, while his fellow Medical Missionaries follow with their continued ongoing goodness and caring ways. No task ever seems too big. They continue to pick up steam in identyfying needs and how to meet them. Everyone is cheerful and upbeat! It is always a treat to be involved in this mission effort! Thanks for all the good times I have had helping the less fortunate!
Medical Missionaries & all their volunteers are so amazing! I have travelled to Haiti w/ them on several occasions and the work they do for the people & the love they spread is just inspiring!! God Bless them!

Medical Missionaries has changed my life. I thought I was going on a one time trip to the DR to help build a shed/garage & it has turned into almost 20 years of going to Haiti & the clinic to help build & repair & keep things running for the poorest of the poor. It has changed my outlook on life & the generosity of the people who work w/ the MM team & the Haitian people opened my eyes to Gods love & my purpose in the world God bless all those who serve!!
Medical Missionaries is an awesome organization. I follow the work done in the United States, Haiti. and across the world. They are a small organization that has touched thousands of lives. I enjoy attending and supporting their events.
Medical Missionaries lives up to its mission of "Helping the poorest of the poor". Its tireless volunteers strive to connect donations with the needy. Always looking for opportunities to help, this is a great non profit to both help financially and to volunteer for.
I volunteer at Medical Missionaries. I am 12 years old and I love how welcoming they are. I help out with their tech support at their events. My sister and I help load trucks.
A very impressive, hard working and dedicated group of people run this organization. Donations are delivered on a daily basis, cataloged and distributed to the poorest of the poor on an as needed basis throughout the U. S. and the world. This past month the organization filled and shipped 2-40 FT. containers to Cameroon, Africa and Haiti in support of relief efforts. On a daily basis, those in need contact the organization & either come by or are delivered needed medical supplies & equipment ranging from walkers, wheelchairs, shower chairs & personal items without requiring payment. I began volunteering for this organization after I retired from the US Army Corp of Engineers and find my efforts very rewarding.
This is a great organization ! The volunteers are kind and helpful and the work they do is diverse and very rewarding !
I donate to this charity because they extend help to the very poor and needy over a wide geographical range both in the USA and in destitute countries. Also they work with a relatively small budget so I know whatever I contribute will make a significant impact.
Medical Missionary is one of the BEST nonprofit organizations to be involved with. They are ALWAYS ready to help out no matter what the request maybe.
Staff goes 1000 percent to aide people needing everything from food, clothing,
Medical items and more. Doc Irwin is a gem and the most caring person I know.
As a family, we have been involved with Medical Missionaries for 2 years now. The kids help load trucks and my wife and I help with communications. It is fulfilling to know that we are helping so many people in need. The organization made up entirely of volunteers is very good about making every dollar count.
Medical Missionaries is an exceptional nonprofit organization focused on delivering medical supplies, household items, food, water, and many other supplies to poverty stricken regions both in the United States and abroad. The most amazing aspect about this group is that they are average, everyday people that saw an opportunity to reach out and help others by simply redistributing items that hospitals, medical offices, and individuals no longer needed. Another astonishing fact about this organization is that it is run by volunteers and 100% of monetary donations go to the poor. Not one member in the organization is paid, which highlights the organizations true goal of serving the poor of the world.
I have been a volunteer and board member with Medical Missionaries since it's onset. I think all the accomplishments, with volunteers only, is beyond amazing. Medical Missionaries built and supports a clinic in Haiti that serves over 125,00 people. We collect, sort and inventory medical supplies and equipment, clothing, and food and send this in containers around the world, mostly to countries of western Africa. We support a food pantry in Grundy, Virginia, provide medical supplies, hygiene products, clothing, and food locally and to Native American Indians. Medical Missionaries has an incredibly caring group of volunteers who donate their time, talents, and money to the organization. I am very proud to be part of the Medical Missionaries family! Carolyn A Jeans, RN
Medical Missionaries is one of the rare organizations where the donations (monetary and phyiscal items) fully reach the people who need them. I have donated many household items to this organization and everything is always welcomed and appreciated. The volunteers work hours upon hours to make sure people receive the items they need. Medical Missionaries is a small but mighty organization that truly does good for all people.
A parish member had back surgery and doing the procedure it was discovered that he had to have heart a procedure that developed into surgery. He was in need of a hospital bed that would accommodate both of his procedures. A hospital bed was required in order for him to return home. His wife called on Medical Missionaries for assistance and we responded. Two volunteers delivered the bed in time for his home coming.
I have been a volunteer with Medical Missionaries since 2015. I was introduced to the organization during a mission trip to Banica, Dominican Republic. I began volunteering to help sort clothing donations that Medical Missionaries received on a biweekly basis at their office in Manassas. In this capacity, I am able to see the good work that Medical Missionaries does in the NoVA area as well as the Appalachian regions of Virginia and West Virginia. In 2018, I had the privilege of joining one of the Medical Missionaries sponsored medical teams traveling to the DR and Haiti. I was able to participate in mobile clinics in the DR/Haiti and observe operations at St. Thomas Clinic in Thomassique, Haiti. I was and continue to be impressed by the vital and necessary services that Medical Missionaries provides to the poor and marginalized here in the United States and abroad. What is equally impressive is that Medical Missionaries provides these services with all volunteer help and minimal overhead making the most of every dollar and/or donation that is received.
I love volunteering for this organization - the volunteers are what make it! It has very little overhead so most of the donations go to those that need it the most. There are no paid positions, just good-hearted volunteers helping the poorest of the poor. The volunteers are so selfless and caring, you can't help but feel great about being around them. Additionally, I am able to get my kids involved and they feel good about helping other families
My wife and I have been volunteers for the Medical Missionaries for many years. The Gala's and other events have generated much needed resources for many worth while causes in the local area. across the US and overseas. Trucks full of items have been dispatched to hard hit areas Hurricane Sandy, West Virginia, Haiti just to names a few. plan on continuing serve MM in the future. Could always use more volunteers and also more donations, food, medical, clothing and money.
I have been a volunteer for the past 2 years for this outstanding organization. 100% of their funding goes to their field projects and the organization is 100% a volunteer managed program. The projects are vital to the local community as well as in the greater area, for example Southwest and West Virginia and includes support of food pantries for areas that are food insecure. Their international component includes the successful management of a hospital clinic in Haiti, as well as giving assistance during times of disaster where it is needed. The organization collects and packages medical supplies and equipment to send in sea containers to places of great need overseas. It is.a privilege to volunteer for this organization.
I began volunteering with (and donating to) Medical Missionaries five years ago. In that time I've seen thousands of people receive medical visits, medicines, food, clean water, medical supplies, other material needs, love and caring. The organization is uncommonly committed to making sure every possible dollar goes to helping the poorest of the poor in the world. That makes it harder to run the organization (with an all volunteer staff), but far more beneficial to the poor and sick in the world than most larger, paid professional-staffed charities.
Review from Guidestar
Medical Missionaries is an impressive organization that not only provides medical care through its Clinic in Haiti, but provides medicines and supplies to those in need throughout the world, including sending supplies for disaster relief in the USA. Not only that, it's a totally volunteer organization! The doctors, nurses, and others, donate their time and skills to make this work possible!
Review from Guidestar
These people are hands on and work hard to meet the direct needs of the people of Haiti. No waste of the funds and resources donated, everything is put toward helping those in need and has been for years.
Medical Missionaries has been successful in establishing a medical clinic in Thomassique, Haiti, which serves hundreds of thousands of Haitians each year. The organization has gone to great lengths to ensure that the community has access to everything from antibiotics to prenatal care, and has trained Haitians to work as doctors, nurses, and midwives. Medical Missionaries is impact-focused, stretching every resource to reach as many Haitians as possible with quality medical care.
Medical Missionaries is focused entirely on helping the poorest people in Haiti. Because of this focus, and their long history, they have been able to build healthcare resources in rural areas in a country with little access to such services. We have donated our time and money to Medical Missionaries, and know that contributions go directly to the needy in Haiti. When we were deciding which charities to give an additional donation to last Christmas, Medical Missionaries was at the top of our list.
Medical Missionaries, Inc. is an organization that is truly dedicated to helping the poorest of the poor in Haiti. They have a long history of helping in the country and have spent tireless hours building sustainable healthcare resources in a country with little access to healthcare. Donations to Medical Missionaries go farther than most other non-profit organizations. It is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff members. Medical Missionaries has truly made a difference in the lives of Haitians and will continue to do so for years to come. You can rest assured that your donations will go directly to serving those in greatest need!
