Mission: Meal preparation & delivery to shut-ins
Programs: During 2017, meals on wheels of long beach (mowlb) delivered an unprecedented 175,514 meals. During this period the programs volunteer delivery teams conducted 87,757 friendly visits to our homebound clients. Mowlb is supported by over 360 volunteers each week who assist with meal packaging and deliveries. Mowlb has consistently and sustainably increased the number of clients served during this period. Currently, mowlb serves upwards of 425 homebound seniors, veterans and disabled, regardless of age, in long beach, signal hill and leisure world seal beach. According to a recently conducted survey, 77% of mowlb clients stated that they are either very satisfied and 22% indicated they were satisfied with meals on wheels services. This means that 99% of mowlb clients feel their needs are served well by mowlb.
