Matt’s Place showed up for my family right when we needed them. When my dad was diagnosed with ALS we had so many questions as to how the next year or so was going to look. How were we going to take care of my dad and keep him home with us. Teresa and Matt helped my family get the bathroom they needed for my dad to stay home with us. They gave us ideas that would help make my dad’s last days easier on him they showed so much compassion and love. They introduced us to so many people that helped us along the way. I feel they are true angels on earth. We are so grateful for Matt’s Foundation for everything they have done and continue to do for the people and families that are living this daily fight with ALS.
My experience with Matt’s Place is Amazing. When my Wife was diagnosed with late stage ALS and had to stop working and go on total disability times became very rough financially. I called Matt’s Place and talked with Theresa Wilde. I asked if they could help a little with rent. 200-300 would help a lot. They ended up paying all 800 of my Wife’s rent for a total of 6 months. What a huge Blessing. My Wife was able to live out the last several months of Her life without financial stress. She and I will be Eternally Grateful. Thank You Matt’s Place Foundation. This picture was taken at Hospice 3 days before She passed away. I miss You sooo much Honey . Curt and Dawny Cooper.
As a Board member of Matt’s Place, I get to see first hand how impactful our contributions are to our community. From the daily supportive conversations to families in need of a listening ear, to large fruitful fundraisers showing awareness of our goals - our reach is abundant. I’m honored to a part of such a smart and insightful group that doesn’t stop until the needs of the ALS community (and beyond) is met. We’ve got more up our sleeve planned for the upcoming year and I can’t wait to see how we grow!
