During a time I was in need, Matthews Crossing was there for me and my son. Not only did I receive healthy foods I was always treated with respect. It can be humbling and embarrassing to ask for help when needed but the volunteers at Matthews Crossing NEVER made me feel as if I had anything to be ashamed of. Their kindness and caring helped in immeasurable ways. Thank you for being there.

I am the volunteer coordinator at Matthew's Crossing Food Bank. I have been involved with MC since it began. We serve anyone in need of food. However, most of our clients are the working poor and those looking for work. This is an awesome expeience. We have around 100 dedicated volunteers. Each year we are able to help more people because our generous partners donate to those less fortunate.Volunteering gave me a sense of purpose after my employment years had past.Matthew's Crossing holds a special place in my heart.

Matthew's crossing has made great progress in the past year. We now provide an extra weekly bag of groceries to 100 to 150 clients. Our holiday dinners will be available for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. We now are able to provide :infant bags" containing needed supplies for infants to toddlers.

One of the most helpful additions is our new computers. When a server is added (soon, I hope) it will make logging in clients much faster.

We are blessed with a generous and supportive community.

I have volunteered at Matthew's Crossing for two years and to experience first hand the impact this organization has on those in need is humbling. Recently two volunteers assembled recipes that are tasty, easy to use and work well with the food that's distributed. To see the joy on the faces of children when they are given a book or supplies for school, help someone who is homeless with food and a list of resources and have everything a mother needs for her newborn. Matthew's Crossing is more than just a food bank.

Have faith. Volunteer. End hunger.

The people who volunteer their time at the Food bank are amazing people. Not only do their care about their jobs they care about the people who they are blessed to meet every day. They keep rising to the challenge when the numbers keep rising in our area for help. Keep up the good work we appreciate you all more then you will know.

Matthew's Crossing continues to reach out to more of the working poor each year that need some help when they just can't make ends meet. We are so thankful to have wonderful volunteers and supporters that help us to make a difference in the community.
The real success for us is when a family that we've helped in the past comes back to donate food to help other's because they are working again and want to give back. Priceless!!

Matthews-Crossing is a small treasure I found one year ago, when it drew me in as a volunteer. As the newest member of my team, I have great admiration for this group. I believe most of them have been there since its inception, and they are truly dedicated, kind and generous. Matthews-Crossing provides assistance without delving into clients' personal lives and without prejudice. We get people from all backgrounds and levels of society, and all are graciously welcomed and given the same respect as any other citizen walking through our doors. Our clients are treated with dignity, which is evident by the numerous compliments they give us, and for that we are grateful. When they cry, we try to reassure them, and when they're exuberant because they just found a job, we share in their joy. But we also know they need more than food to sustain themselves, so our volunteers often bring in diapers, hygiene products, books, and little extras that make such a big difference to every day living; things many people just take for granted. When the summer heat reaches 115 degrees, we make sure there are bottles of water for them, especially our homeless clients, and those walking or riding bicycles. I like to think of Matthews-Crossing as a little oasis for the people going through difficult times.

I have been volunteering at Matthew's Crossing Food Bank almost since it's inception and have watched it grow in the numbers of people that we are able to serve. We turn no one away and help fill the needs of our clients both physically and emotionally. Our goal is to serve the communities needy and bring smiles and hope to each and every one who comes through our doors.

Last holiday season Matthew’s Crossing was the recipient of our companies food drive. This organization is community focused and we could clearly see the positive impact our contributions made. The Staff at Matthew’s Crossing is delightful to work with. They provided great stewardship in aligning their needs with our season of giving program, creating a very positive response from office staff. The level of professionalism of the staff and the ability to fill a need in the community place Matthew’s Crossing on the top of our list of organizations to support.

We own a teambuilding company and regularly hold philanthropic events where clients buy non-perishable food items, use them in a game, and then donate them. I had always donated to the larger food banks and then discovered Matthews Crossing - and there was no going back. At all times, I have found them to be warm, welcoming and helpful - especially when unloading 8,000 food items!! Keep up the great work!

I have been active with Matthew’s Crossing for several years. I volunteered when this started as a small food bank giving food out of a church kitchen. It has been heartwarming to see this organization move forward to the excellent non-profit organization it is today. There have been many times when I have handed a bag of groceries to a person and seen the tears of gratitude running down their cheeks. There is no more joy for a volunteer than giving a teddy bear to a child and seeing their face light up and their eyes shine. My husband has served on the board of Matthew’s Crossing and we support all the good they are doing in our community. M &M Flinkman

I have been donating to Matthew's Crossing for two years and always receive help and gratitude from the volunteer staff. The recent move to a larger center has helped in having more storage area to accomadate the larger demand of clients who are in need of food and other supplies. The Kids Cafe project is trying to raise funds to be able to help children in need of a place to go after school is out. Any assistance to this project will be greatly appreciated. I have also volunteered in stocking bags for the supplemental food day. This is a very worthy cause and needed charity in our community. Aimee, the executive director is very knowledgable and thankful person to work with. Aimee is also very easy to communicate with if she is not available by phone, she can be reached by email. Aimee is dedicated to helping the those in need.

I am a member of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce and had the opportunity to meet the Executive-Director of Matthews Crossing. I work in the promotional field and have worked with them in many projects. I feel very strongly about how they are assisting families in and around the area. I give back a percentage of my commission to their worthy cause. It is a pleasure working with them and their volunteers.

I volunteered for this non-profit shortly after moving to Arizona, and was very impressed by the operation. I have volunteered for many non-profit organizations, and was struck by how hard every worked to make the Matthews Crossing food bank a success for their community. I was also surprised by the variety of people in need of the food bank services. People from every race, age, and socioeconomic background came to fufill a basic necessity for their families. I am still proud to contribute through food donations and would love to volunteer for them again.

Matthews Crossing began just a few years ago with an idea by an Episcopal Priest. It has since become independent from that church and has grown significantly with an all volunteer staff, except the Executive Director. It is the only food bank in Chandler, AZ that is open five days each week, and now it is open late hours also. They are now working to open a Kid's Cafe for dinner for students who receive subsidized breakfast and lunch at school. I was involved in their move from the church to rented space. We also donate to their food, shampoo, soap, etc. supplies.
