I am proud to be a board member for MCHC because I have seen first hand the difference it makes to the community we serve. The organization is highly attuned to the clients it serves and is very deliberate in knowing where they can make the most difference with the funding they have. It is a very warm, passionate and caring organization. As a mother of three, I really appreciate their goal of 'start healthy, stay healthy, and succeed in school which is what every mother wants for her child.

Maternal and Child Health Consortium is a top-notch, well-organized, and well-respected non-profit in the Chester County Community. It has given expecting mothers and their families hope, support, education, and resources with the goal of providing these babies with a safe and healthy start to life. I joined the Board because I believe in the organization's mission and have seen widespread results. I am proud to be a member of this amazing group.

I spent almost 3 years working at MCHC as a Medical Language Interpreter. It was a most rewarding experience. I wouldn't trade that period of my life for anything else. Children and families served at MCHC come from different cultures and walks of life and come to depend on MCHC to bridge, not only language barriers (as was my role), but many other factors the consortium provides as a coordinated system. On my interpreting role, I worked hand i hand with doctors, nurses, therapists and schools. I had the joy to watch children fight and conquer a higher level of development, which otherwise may have been unattainable. We went wherever it was necessary: doctor's offices, homes, schools, hospitals... INteracting with MCHC capable and dedicated staff was a true joy.

MCHC has served Chester County's women and children for 20 years. It was led by Pam Bryer, an excellent leader and fund raiser for those 20 years, and is now entering a new era with a brand new CEO. MCHC makes excellent use of its donors contributions with staff who are efficient, bilingual and so very dedicated to their clients. Let's honor Pam with this award.

I've been with the MCHC for a little while now and it's been a pleasure working with them. They have such a positive work environment that makes it a pleasure to be there. It's easy to tell that all of them are genuinely dedicated to helping their clients. I think more people should know about this organization and it's definitely important to spread the word! If you're looking for a non-profit to volunteer at this is the place!

I was looking for a quality volunteer experience in the area of West Chester where i am a student of West Chester University of PA and I found the best experience here. The staff here is so welcoming and ready to help all of their clients as soon as they can. There is never any hesitation when a job needs to get done or a goal needs to be met. When I started volunteering here I was not sure what to expect but it has been a great experience thus far. The staff is extremely helpful and never leads me in the wrong direction. I feel like I am a vital part of the team every time I walk through the doors and I appreciate coming here once a week to help in something as great as the Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County. It is so great that it is not even a school requirement and I still continue to volunteer my time to this great nonprofit organization. Great place! :)

I have been volunteering with MCHC at the Coatesville Healthy Start program. I have been impressed with the level of professionalism and dedication of the women who work there. Their work with expectant mother and new mothers gives these women a sense of stability as they go through major life changes. I have also been impressed with the level of compassion they show the women and their families. Healthy Sart collaborates well with other social service providers in the area.

As the Marketing Manager for Scott Honda, over the last 4 years I have had the honor and privilege of donating and delivering over 600 winter jackets for preschool and elementary aged children. The amazing women who run the MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH CONSORTIUM are the best. They are polite, organized and always very grateful for our donations and we know they are making sure the coats are going to children that really need them. Keep up the great work!

I have had the pleasure of volunteering with MCHC through the family center in Kennett. The people who work there are all very dedicated to making a difference in the lifes of the families they serve. They have helped families lead healthier lives both physically and emotionally and their commitment to top quality education for the children they serve is commendable.

While I haven't taken part in many of the other projects MCHC runs, I have seen and heard about many of the incredible results and am very impressed with the wide reaching impact they have had.

I have been a board member for 3 years. I am an OB/GYN nurse practitioner & have seen firsthand how important it is for women of childbearing age & their families to have invaluable support, both medically & psychosocially, during a childbearing experience. MCHC provides outstanding care for such families in Chester County. Their work is aboslutely vital to the communities they serve. One only has to look at the statistics about the birth weights of the infants born to the women who have participated in MCHC's programs to know that their efforts DO indeed work. The services MCHC provides families after their babies are born, such as the Family Center, directly support their mission of children starting healthy, staying healthy and succeeding in school. The staff is very dedicated to the community, working diligently to ensure the participants have the best outcomes possible.

I have been committed to the empowerment of women and children for my whole professional career. When I relocated to Chester County I learned of MCHC and the fabulous work they do in the community to serve this population. Now that I am on the Board, I can say that I have rarely encountered such a dedicated group of professional staff, volunteers and board members who really care about the mission of the organization. MCHC makes a real and demonstrated difference in the quality of life and health of those we serve.

MCHC is an incrediably effective non profit that is filled with employees who effortlessly serve our community day in and out. I have been on the board for 6 years and I continue to be thoroughly amazed at the passion the employees have for the mission of this wonderful organization. MCHC provides health care for woman and children who are without these critially important services. Our Healthy Start Program continues to be a tremendous success. When I think about the amazing work this organization does to provide health services to our most crucial group of humans, hence children, it makes me very proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization.

I have had the pleasure of assisting families to secure their child's safety seats into the family vehicle. The child safety seats are donated to each family by MCHC. I am a Child Passenger Safety Technician and I always educate the parents or caregivers on the correct use of the child safety seat before assisting with the installation and I witness how the MCHC Staff is always professional but with true dedication, care and compassion, they deal with each family individually according to that families needs. I am truly in awe of the staff and the services they provide to the community.

It's been over 15 years since I first encountered the Maternal and Child Health Consortium when Pam Bryer launched the organization and brought the "promotoras" model to Chester County - an affluent community with significant pockets of poverty, particularly for women of color. As the leader of another non-profit health provider and now a funder, I've watched Pam and her expanding crew of volunteers and staff tackle some of the most significant health and social problems facing poor women in our country - poor access to prenatal care, language barriers in health care, often missed postpartum depression, and the lack of health insurance. They stay with the tough old issues, but also are always on top of emerging issues in the field. As a funder, I value that they regularly keep us informed, that they never rest on their laurels, and that they exhibit compassion with the businesslike savvy that has kept them alive and growing for 20 years - despite the tough economy. They are one of the top quality, most effective non-profit organizations in the tri-state region around and including Philadelphia - and definitely one of the best women's organizations!

I have been involved with MCHC for many years, both as a funder and as a volunteer. I am constantly impressed by the work MCHC does, the level of commitment the entire organization has to the MCHC cause and Just how often I see people at MCHC going the extra mile to make sure their mission is accomplished. The Family Center in Kennet is exceptional and is serving a huge need both in identifying children who may show some developmental delays and connecting families to each other for additional support. I am always happy to help where ever I can to support MCHC.

I have been involved with MCHC for many years and have conducted several site visits, speaking with staff about their work. I have been most impressed by their passion and commitment to their work. They assist pregnant women and young familities to get the services and help they need to raise healthy infants and children. What could be more meaningful than that? Helping these young children early in life provides a strong foundation for their future lives and productivity. Strong and healthy families result in strong and healthy communities.

MCHC provides top-quality services to the most vulnerable members of our community, mothers and babies. The care they provide yields life-time benefits for the health of the children served. This non-profit provides significant care to our community, staffed by capable and compassionate people.

The staff at MCHC is, like any worthwhile non-profit, of the "roll up their sleeves and get it done!" variety. They work tirelessly for the women, children and families they support, helping underserved children in Chester County get a better start in life.

MCHC is all about families, especially espectant moms and babies. I am a past board member, past president and past treasurer, but now operate on an advisory board/committee. MCHC is committed to healthy children, beginning in utero, and expecting healthy birth weights. They have made a difference in many lives of many families. Unhealthy babies result in a child who could have development issues and possibly problems for a lifetime. Those who have prenatal care take it for granted, but there are many people out there without it, and that shouldn't be a reality to anyone in the United States of America.
