A great museum. So many great displays on the history of the Massachusetts State Police. I enjoyed very much how everything was well documented and displayed. There are many great items displayed from the very early days of the MSP. The original MSP motorcycle on display is great! A lot of cool model vehicles and displays of MSP history. The museum building is very nice. There is also a great video on the history of the MSP. The volunteers and staff of the museum do a great job giving tours. Also there is great selection of MSP patches, clothing, and model police vehicles to purchase
My local state police museum and learning center has been a constant source of joy, knowledge, and inspiration for me and my family. Over the years, I have been fortunate to attend various events and witness their engaging exhibits, which bring the history of law enforcement to life.
One of my favorite experiences was the "mobile museum" exhibit and the antique cruiser at a local car show, where I learned about the fascinating evolution of police vehicles. The dedication and passion put into curating such an enlightening experience were truly remarkable.
Moreover, the museum's activities cater to all ages, making it a perfect destination for families seeking an educational and fun outing. The knowledgeable, professional, and friendly staff members are always eager to share their wealth of information, ensuring an unforgettable experience for every visitor.
I wholeheartedly recommend this museum to anyone who wishes to deepen their appreciation for our state police and the law enforcement community. With its outstanding collection of historical memorabilia and interactive exhibits, this museum is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered and cherished by all.
The local state police museum and learning center is an exceptional institution that has consistently exceeded my expectations. As a regular visitor and volunteer, I have had the pleasure of participating in various events and exploring their wide array of exhibits that showcase the rich history of law enforcement in our state.
I was particularly impressed by the "mobile museum" exhibit and the participation at a local car show, which offered a unique opportunity to delve into the evolution of police vehicles throughout the years. The staff's expertise and enthusiasm for sharing their knowledge added an extra layer of depth to the experience.
Furthermore, the museum caters to visitors of all ages by offering engaging activities and interactive displays that make learning a fun and enjoyable experience. My children particularly love the hands-on elements, and I appreciate the opportunity to teach them about the importance of law enforcement in our society.
The exceptional curation of historical memorabilia at the museum is truly remarkable, providing a tangible connection to the past that will inspire both young and old visitors alike. The friendly and professional staff go above and beyond to ensure every visit is informative and memorable.
I cannot recommend this museum highly enough. It is an outstanding institution that not only celebrates the history of our state police but also fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation for the law enforcement community as a whole.
Great collection of Mass State Police History, uniforms, memorabilia dating from 1865 to the present. Guided tours available from retired State Police personnel. Interactive children's room featuring uniforms to try on, microscopes, historic films, games etc. Suitable for all ages.
Thanks for the great tour. I am not a trooper but really enjoyed the warm welcome and learning about the history of the MSP in the fantastic museum. Worth the visit.
What a cool place to visit. I stopped with friends, and we had a great time. Ben and Liz were awesome and gave us a great tour. Definitely a must-see museum!
I have been involved with the Massachusetts State Police Museum since 1994. I have watched it grow from an idea of a few dedicated retired state troopers to the acquisition of an old barrack to its current location. It is both amazing and heart-warming to see the beautiful displays and the hard work being performed by the several volunteers and board members. The many people I have spoken to who have visited the museum are also amazed at what they have seen. The photos and displays and the history and research being done is fantastic.
This was a pleasant surprise. I was in Whitinsville for other reasons but then discovered this hidden treasure. I found the tour extremely interesting and fun. You can either roam around on you own or take the offered tour. It was very informative and interesting. We had a great time and will visit again when in the area.
What a great place to visit. I went with my son because he had gone there as part of his class field trip with school. The people were very friendly and sure knew their stuff. I learned things I had never known about Massachusetts and found the entire experience extremely interesting. I would recommend a visit to this museum. You won't be disappointed.
One of the greatest honors in the life of a Massachusetts State Police Officer is when he/she graduates from the Academy, has the badged pinned to their chest and takes the oath. The honor is bestowed on that individual when he/she receives the privilege to be called a Trooper. Not many receive that honor. That Trooer is now a member of the oldest State Police Agency in the country. They are now able to carry on and uphold the rich and rewarding legacy of being the first and best in the nation.
I definitely enjoyed my trip to the museum. I wasn't active in law enforcement but this Museum was so interesting. It's nice that they welcome anybody that wants to see what they have to offer. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I actually learned a lot when I was there which I guess would be the goal of a good Museum. They did a great job.
Tells the stroy of the oldest State Police Organization in the USA. Shows uniforms and equipment as it has advanced. They bring in school groups to teach them about Law Enforcement as well as the Mass State Police. They are creating a video library of active and retired members of the MSP to tell the stories.
They have a wall of remembrance of the the MSP heros that have died in the line of duty.
Truly a well done museum.
This is an amazing museum to visit. Knowledgeable and friendly staff that goes out of their way to make sure you enjoy your visit. Everyone is welcome and great for all ages as there are plenty of activities for the kids too. The museum is organized chronologically making it easy to start at the beginning in 1865 continuing through the present day. There is also a nice gift shop with lots of fun and interesting items for all ages. It is nice knowing that this is a true non-profit and every dollar they collect goes directly back into the museum. EVERYONE that works there is a volunteer from the daily volunteers all the way up to the board of directors and the museum president. Definitely worth the trip!
