Causes: Education, Educational Services
Mission: Masa partners with mexican and latino children, youth, and families in the south bronx to develop strong learners and leaders who fully contribute to the larger community. We envision a community that is civically engaged, empowered, and educated. To realize our mission, masa combines direct service with advocacy for a stronger, more just community. We support children academically from 18 months through college and beyond, through each stage of their development;we offer education programs and a broad range of referrals to adults, with a focus on ensuring families are stable; andwe promote civic engagement and community organizing while delivering services.
Programs: Educational and leadership programs for children of immigrants and latino and mexican youth, including early childhood programs, after-school programs (including homework help, literacy, and stem), and youth development programs. Adult programs for latino immigrants including parenting workshops, parent leadership development, spanish literacy courses, esl courses, cultural workshops, family support (case management and referrals), community education workshops, and parent organizing.
