Mission: Our mission is to provide safe and affordable housing to low to moderate-income households, while providing them access to basic need services to help empower, sustain and grow vibrant communities.
Results: Mary’s Lighthouse grew from the efforts of individuals in the construction industry. The construction contractors recognized the needs of homeowners who could not afford to repair their house but who anticipated remaining in the home. Homeowners faced increasing damage to the structure of the home when repairs were left unattended and yet the homeowner did not have the financial resources to effect repairs. It fell to the contractors to seek financial assistance for repairs to the home. As the participating contractors became adept in locating financial assistance, the concept of creating an organization with a singular purpose evolved. Recognizing the need to maximize the limited available funding for the homeowner, the best avenue to achieve the most good was through a non-profit corporation. We have helped over 200 low to moderate income households with much needed emergency repairs and wrap around services.
