Geographic areas served: Serving rural communities across Maryland. Caroline, Kent, and Cecil Counties encompass our primary service area on the Upper Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Harford County is home to a portion of MRDC’s Head Start Preschool programming, and Western Maryland (Garrett, Allegany, and Washington Counties) is the primary location of where MRDC provides community development services.
Programs: Early Childhood Education: Providing educational support to children and families, through Early Head Start and Head Start programming. • Housing Stability: Assisting families with affordable housing solutions and preventing homelessness. • Adult Education: Offering programs to enhance adult education and workforce readiness. • Financial Literacy: Empowering individuals with the knowledge to manage their finances effectively. • Community Development: Supporting rural communities through infrastructure improvements, economic development, and capacity building.
