Mission: For more than 40 years, Maryland Ravens, Inc. has assisted in improving the lives of physically challenged persons and enabling him and/or her to make positive differences in the lives of students (of all ages). We empower disabled persons (i.e., help build self-esteem, self-confidence, independence, and self motivation) so that they may motivate students to achieve all that they're capable of.
Results: Our Abilities Awareness Program was selected the 2003 Disability Awareness Program. The wheelchair basketball team won the 2006 National Wheelchair Basketball Association Division III Championship and ended 2013 ranked #1 once again.
Target demographics: inspire students and educators
Direct beneficiaries per year: more than 7,000 attendees.
As exeutive director (born with congenital anomaly...of both arms and hands) and a retired Social Security Administration Policy Analyst, I learned early that my calling was to support and provide opportunities to other physically challenged persons so that they can also demonstrate their skills.
This remains the Maryland Ravens' focus but we need your help.
Give what you can...there is no gift too small...
