Hello my name is Mario. I attend Maryland New Directions for two weeks and in that two weeks I have learned so much about the work field. My job coach, the staff, the person at the front desk and all the volunteers was always so helpful. My classmates of 10/2018 was the best TEAM WORK was our main strong point. We all wanted each other to do better and we didn't only do it by words but by the actions. I would recommend any one who would like to better their self give Maryland New Directions a chance. I went to Maryland New Directions to obtain my Forklift Operator Certification and had a wonderful experience there. All the staff members and volunteers were welcoming and very helpful when needed. My classmates were also exceptionally wonderful and well-groomed. It was a wonderful experience for me and in the end i came out with a Guest Service Professional Certificate as well as my Forklift Operator Certification! I would most certainly recommend this program for anyone who is having a hard time or even just a career change to try them out. My job coach Ms. Sonya Harrison was the best coach ever and she made sure i was well prepared for any task at hand that i needed her there for and she gives wonderful advice when needed. Mr. Rick Vallance is the MAN when it comes to job leads and other referrals for job trainings. All in All this programs has all your specific needs to employment and i mean EVERYTHING!!

My volunteer experience at Maryland New Direction (MND) has been superb. I find the program and resources to be comprehensive and relevant; offering students the skills necessary to conduct successful job searches in a variety of industries. MND instructors are passionate and deliver the material with great care. Equally as important are the students who all have consistently appeared eager to learn. MND fosters an environment of inclusion, encouragement and genuine support. You can tell they’re really committed to their students’ success.

I think that MND has helped me a great deal with composing a better resume, cover letter, and having an masters application. It has also helped me be more confident in myself and the skills that I have to offer to a job. I have also learned what an employer is looking for in a potential employee and to also ask them questions as well.

They really help you with resume and cover letters. My job coach Ms. Kate was really awesome. I came and talked to her everyday even by email. Shes really a great job coach. When I walked into the office of Maryland New Directions I was clueless as to what it really takes to get and keep a job. I learned more about professionalism. I learned how to network. I was able to revise my resume to make it more functional without being too many pages. I found a group of people that genuinely care about helping others excel in life. The greatest part of this is that the course is two weeks but the help continues for a life-time. I don't have a job as of yet but this program gives me hope that I will despite all of the no's I have received thus far. I know now that looking seeing employment takes as much time as having a job. I am extremely grateful for all of the support that I have received here. Sincerely

The energy and encouragement given by the staff at MND is amazing!! Even thought
I was assigned my own job coach all the other coaches were always ready and willing to help with anything I needed. The information taught was very helpful (and I thought I knew this stuff already). And they have a lot volunteers (some from current hiring companies) that come in just to help others which tells you a lot about who your working with. I really appreciate all the hard team work that they gave to my class, and the tools received here. This was truly a different experience from anything I've participated in. THANK YOU GUYS!!!

This is the first time I have taken a training workshop where they actually taught you something useful. All of the staff there were really GREAT. Anyone that comes to this program and say that it doesn't work, it's because they didn't apply them selves and work the skills that they were taught. The whole team was GREAT. Thank you Mrs. Sonia, Mr. Rick Ms. Kate, and Mr. Steve and everyone else whose names I can't rember.
