What a great charity! This is a very dedicated group of horse lovers who do great things! They provide help when people cannot take care of their horses. They provide hay, medical care ( gelding mostly) and placement help when the need arises!
They are dedicated and very efficient! I am a donor and am confident they make the most efficient use of donations!
They are a great group to support!

The Maryland Fund For Horses Appy Fest event promoted the adoption of many rescued horses. It also highlighted how trainers (both professional and amateur) can work with previously untrained horses using gentle methods to turn them into adoptable and rideable companions. Everyone who attended the event was able to enjoy watching the success of these horse and trainer teams. Even those who were not there to adopt a horse felt inspired seeing the progress these animals had made. MFFH has saved the lives of many horses through events like this and their other programs which support horse owners. The people I have met through MFFH are all kind hearted, hard working, dedicated animal lovers. It's a wonderful organization!

I volunteered with MFFH on numerous occasions, all of which were fantastic experiences! They are wonderful people aiming to better the horse industry, and helping them do their work was an amazing experience. A lot of their work I was able to help with was in regards to the Wicomico rescue horses and AppyFest (1 & 2). It was truly fascinating to be there on the day 19 stallions were able to be gelded. Then help with with the first AppyFest event, where some of the horses got adopted. Also being able to foster Alvin as a delight! He’s such a fun boy! For the second AppyFest I entered as a trainer, a last minute fill in, which resulted in me taking home my project horse-Willy! Willy and I clicked from the moment he came to the farm, having not be handled prior. Now he’s blossomed into a (green) riding horse who demands attention from everyone! All of this was possible because of MFFH are the great work that they do! I highly highly recommend this organization! If you can get out to volunteer with them, do it!

MFFH innovates ways to identify and help horse owners with temporary financial aid so they are not forced to dispose of their horses. MFFH operates MD's hay bank, veterinary care assistance and more.
