Causes: Family Services, Human Services
Mission: The Martin Luther King Jr. Family Outreach Center improves the quality of life for children, youth, and families in Spokane through an array of culturally responsive educational and social services within the framework of Dr. King's vision of equal respect, treatment, and accessibility for all.
Results: Over 135 children participated in service and youth programs, 1757 families utilized referral services, 133 families were connect to emergency services (food vouchers, household supplies, utility payments, and rental assistance), 600 children started school with all the supplies they needed, brightened the holidays for 164 families with gifts (presents, food, and decorations), served 122 families through counseling services, and facilitated over 50 outreach/community awareness activities for the Crime Victim Advocacy program.
