This is one charity that I trust due to the simple fact that I have been a donor for years and most recently volunteered there to feed the homeless. Not only do they feed people, but provide temporary lodging/counseling, and hand out warm coats and gloves. It is truly refreshing to see my donations actually benefit those in need.

Mission: To meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of homeless men, women and children.
Target demographics: Our mission is to surround our homeless, hungry and those struggling with addiction, with God's love and everything they need to get back on their feet - food, shelter, counseling, job training, spiritual guidance and Bible study - so they may live stable, productive lives in our community.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Provided 20,198 nights of lodging and 75,326 meals to those in need. We were also able to provide over $207K in Community Charity
Geographic areas served: The Market Street Mission cares for the immediate needs today and long-term needs for a stable, independent tomorrow.
Programs: Emergency Services - many of the men, women or children who come here need immediate assistance like food, showers, clothing, hygiene supplies, and stays in our shelter to get them back on their feet. Life Change Program - Our hearts break for the many men who are struggling with an addiction, chronic homelessness, unemployment and mental illness. We offer these men our Life Change Program - a free, long-term residential addiction treatment program that is designed to offer a "hand up" rather than a "hand out". Through the healing they experience in classes, counseling, work therapy and Bible study, they can return to independent, stable lives.
