The MCSOF is an incredible organization with a very worthwhile mission. Not only do they help to recruit, train, and educate over 750 volunteers with a variety of functions, but they also save the taxpayers an incredible amount of funds.
In offering Citizens Academy Classes, they also build a bridge between interested citizens and our sheriff’s department and deputies. Learning and developing an understanding of the many facets of law enforcement fosters a sense of unity and community, rather than a strained relationship based on shallow understanding. The citizens of Marion County are lucky to have such a dedicated group of individuals who work tirelessly to provide support and give back to those whose life revolves around serving and protecting.
The Marion County Sheriffs office Foundation is a fine organization. I have seen them out and about working hard to educate the community and promote a greater relationship between the public and law enforcement. They provide several programs to the community that provide valuable information to those who may not be aware of all the services they provide to keep our county safer. They always have time to talk to you about any questions you may have. Our county should smile to have such an organization representing the fine work of our Sheriff's office and brave officers.
The Marion County Sheriffs Office Foundation's sole purpose is to work in the best interest of those who live, work or visit Marion County , by funding volunteer operations and special projects benefiting the public
My dad had been volunteering for some time now. He truly enjoys helping others and I believe that’s what they do day in and day out. I’m so proud of my dad for all the work he does with them. They are truly giving back to their community.
I am a new Resident to Marion County and took the Citizens Academy Partnership Class earlier this year.
I learned so much about the Sheriff's Office and the Foundation and everything they do for our Community. It empowered me with information and direction that helped me personally. The Foundation helps the Sheriff's provide the Citizens with so many programs and services for free with their financial support. I was so impressed by both the Sheriff's Office Deputies/Personnel and the Foundation Members that I became a Volunteer for Both.
You can't keep it if you don't give it away!!

MCSO Foundation is an outstanding nonprofit with passionate and skilled people working together as a strong team for the benefit of citizens of Marion County. Under a great leadership the Foundation is very active and involved in the communities, helping to keep them safe through volunteers programs, going above and beyond to find what is needed to help our citizens. Trustworthy!!! I would encourage people to donate to their different programs and check out their cool merchandise like the plush K9s toys, police car toys, tactical teddy bear, aprons...
Great people that are nothing but pleasant to work with!
We recently held a fundraiser with the foundation. Despite the terrible weather on that day that hindered a good turnout, everybody made the best of the day and enjoyed themselves.
We greatly look forward to our next opportunity to work with the MCSO Foundation!
The members of the MCSO Foundation definitely have the "pay-it-forward" philosophy both in thought and action. Raising money for the many volunteer units of the Sheriff's Department has assisted them in making a positive difference in our community. Feeling more secure and safer in the residential areas and businesses is a major cause for our tremendous growth. People want to move here and the Foundation supports those organizations and units that do just that. From the Citizen Patrol (COPS program) and Funeral Escorts to our fabulous Volunteer Mounted Patrol and Marine/River Watch program - the residents of Marion County are Blessed with the efforts from almost 700 volunteers.
I have been a member of the Board of the Marion County Sheriff's Foundation for a few years now, and I have never been prouder of any all volunteer organization in my life. We have been able to serve our county through fund raising to help supply new K-9's, equipment for the river watch and lake patrol, mounted unit and citizens on patrol. I have never ever worked with a better more cohesive team. Always looking for more volunteers!
Marion County Sheriff's Foundation assists the Sheriff's Office volunteer groups. Do you know that more than 700 volunteers are supported by this Foundation. The neighborhood watch program is a perfect example of how the Foundation helps our entire county. They are helping any residents that looks like they need help.
The Foundation also help purchase dogs for the K-9 unit. These dogs have found individuals, both wanted and those that wander away.
These men and women do amazing work all year long!!! They serve the community as a whole and ensure that the residents of Marion County are well informed regarding emergency plans, evacuations, disaster response, and community outreach they work hard and need the donations to continue their work!! Give generously and with a big heart....you will reap the benefits!!
