Mission: The marinwood waterdevils swim team is a community swim team organized and operated exclusively to develop amateur swimmers ages 5-18 to participate in county-wide swim meets. We offer a comprehensive swim program that teaches children necessary swim technique, sportsmanship, and healthy competition in a safe, friendly community environment. Our swim season begins in late january with registration and orientation, followed by 5-day weekly practices which run from march to july. The team will participate in up to 11 swim meets from may to july. The summer season ends in late july. The members of the marinwood waterdevils are primarily residents of the local neighborhood, but our team is open to any child.
Programs: The marinwood waterdevils swim team completed it's 2017 season by participating in 10 local swim meets. Our practices began in march, facilitated by our four coaches. Practices were held 5 days a week from march to july for all age groups. Our team consisted of 230 members ranging in age from 4 to 18 years. These swimmers were coached on swimming technique, endurance, perseverance, team spirit, and sportsmanship. The expenses in this category were paid to our coaching staff who contributed the most to our swim team program.
all other expenses were in support of our swim team and paid for swim team events, such as our end of season awards ceremony, pizza-bingo night, pasta power feed night, photo day and barbecue, pancake breakfast morning, and our annual swimmer aqua-thon. In addition to these swim team events, expenses in this group consisted of vital equipment to support our practices and swim meets such as practice flippers used, kick-boards, swim meet timing equipment, and white boards. Finally, expenses in this group included purchases of snack bar food to be sold at home swim meets.
