I have been on the Board of Marin City Community Development Corporation for five years now. I have watched as the organization has matured and grown to become a key provider of community development services for not only Marin City, but Marin County as well. Our Executive Director, Christina Junker, has led the organization with focus and expertise, putting the Empowerment Clubhouse program on the map internationally as an exemplar provider of growth, support and job training services for community members experiencing challenges from mental health to recovery from drugs and challenges from disabilities. Christina has also grown our Construction Trades Job Training Program to become the most sought after program of its kind in the Bay Area, with a stellar track record of not only graduating new certificated tradespeople, but placing them in jobs directly after their graduation. If you are looking for an organization that puts its money where not only its mouth is, but where there is genuine need being paired with proven, effective solutions for community development, Marin City Community Development Corporation deserves your valuable, generous consideration for your philanthropic giving.

I appreciate this program is in place. Such an opportunity to be able to learn a new trade, without exorbitant fees and lengthy coursework. Program is giving me an appreciation for the men and women, in the trenches of our communities figuratively speaking as well. I feel empowered but the knowledge and experience that I have gained. I believe in this program to the point where I become an advocate for it. Program isn't for those who need it for those who want it bad enough. I encourage anyone who may not necessarily be sure what direction they want to go regard to a career, to explore this program. Be open to what the possibilities are.

My daughter visited MCCDC and now is a raving fan. She is participating in other programs and she said “ this is so much fun, all the other programs are like school and I don’t like school”.

My experience I received from this program from safety week, confine spaces, to learning how to grading and survey and to learning how the bobcat work is a lot I didn’t know . I really thought being apart of the Union was going to be hard I thought I would’ve never been here where I’m at now . I never knew how to operate a bobcat nor did I know how to survey and grade to find out elevation on surface. I also learn how to cut an 45degree Angle cut with using a Miter saw. I honestly believe with these experiences that I have now from the MCCDC program I will now be able to use these skills to elevate my talents in this industry. I’m also willing to learn more. Thanks you guys from the MCCDC.

Orlando and everyone at the MCCDC have helped me change my life. The CTP is helping me make my life better. The opportunity they have given me with this program is allowing me, to get a career I can be proud of. It's the stepping stone to make a life and become a better person. This place helps in so many amazing ways and helps us all who use them to better our lives. It's been what I needed to be productive in my life goals and helped me achieve them.

Their Empowerment Clubhouse is a fantastic place to get support for anyone with mental health challenges. Visited there and had lunch with Members on a Taco Tuesday.

MCCDC is doing important work in helping their clients develop job skills, and networking them with Marin's employers. I am happy to support what they are doing as a donor, a neighbor and also an employer that really values their services.
