Mission: The vision of the MAC is a community in which the experience and practice of the arts is accessible and available to everyone, where professional artists are supported in their work, and where the arts are seen as an integral part of a healthy and sustainable community, and a necessary part of education and economic development.
Programs: The scope of MAC programs and services ranges from information and referral for the general public, focused one-on-one projects with targeted youth and families, to local exhibits, events, and major civic celebrations. They include:
Marin Open Studios, an annual two-week-end event in May when Marin artists open their studios to over 15,000 public visitors;
Teamworks Mentoring and Apprenticeship Program, providing free and low cost art classes for adults and children living in the culturally diverse, low income San Rafael Canal neighborhood and mentoring/apprenticeship and employment opportunities for at-risk teens in Marin?s alternative schools;
Public Programming that includes community exhibitions, readings, receptions, workshops, and ARTSDAYS at the Marin County Fair;
Cultural Equity Awards and Youth Scholarships that increase access to the arts for low income, multi-cultural and other under served communities through monetary awards, MAC sponsorship, exhibits, free classes and more;

Artists Opportunities, a bi-monthly publication listing opportunities from throughout the state and the nation for artists in all media;
Artists Dialogue, a monthly column in the Marin Independent Journal providing an opportunity for the community and its artists to explore and discuss themes and topics around the arts;
Information and Referral ? responding to 6,000 calls and written requests a year for information about the arts in Marin and the Bay Area;
Recognition and Awards for local artists and arts organizations And,
Individual Artists Grants and Community Arts Project Grants totaling over $200,000 annually. A regranting project funded in full by the Marin Community Foundation.
