Mission: As one of the largest autism centers in the U.S. and one of only three National Institutes of Health Autism Centers of Excellence, Marcus Autism Center offers families access to the latest research, comprehensive evaluations and intensive behavior treatments.
Results: *** Since 1991, with the help of community support, we have treated more than 40,000 children. In 2009, we treated nearly 4,000 patients with our multidisciplinary approach, which includes medicine with psychology, speech therapy and behavioral intervention. *** In the United States, one in 110 children is diagnosed with autism. In Georgia, that rate is one in 98—or a total of more than 20,000 children.
