Mission: Maranatha is a non-profit, christian organization motivated by the gospel commission to provide strong, dignified structures for worship, education, and health. In our 50-year history, Maranatha has constructed churches, schools, orphanages, clinics, housing, community centers, and water wells in nearly 90 countries around the world. We believe that by providing for a community's needs, we are showing compassion for others and making the world a better place. Maranatha fulfills the mission by inspiring people to donate to projects and by mobilizing volunteers to build the structures during short-term mission trips. We have found that the partnership of giving and serving brings people face to face with societies and perspectives outside their own, an experience that ultimately generates positive changes on both sides.
Programs: In 2017, maranatha responded to 481 requests for assistance in 13 countries. This breaks down to 371 churches, 74 school buildings, and 36 other renovation or construction projects around the world. The total value of these projects exceeded 17,000,000. This number does not include the value of service hours donated by 2297 volunteers. During 2017, maranatha mobilized 66 volunteer teams to build 19 of these churches, 41 school buildings, and 16 other projects. The total value of the projects utilizing volunteers exceeded 7,000,000.
