Mission: Management leadership for tomorrow (mlt) is the premier career development institution that equips high potential african americans, hispanics and native americans with the key ingredients - skills, coaching and door-opening relationships - that unlock their potential. By cracking the code on career potential, mlt is developing the next generation of minority leaders, for the corporate, non-profit and entrepreneurial sectors, who will in turn have transformational impact on our communities. Mlt delivers programming that puts minorities on the fast-track to success at every stage of their careers: from college through mba and the executive levels.
Programs: Mba programs: mba prep prepares early career professionals for the complex road to business school. The program prepares fellows for the application and interview process and shows them what it takes to be successful in business school and beyond. Mba prep provides fellows with individual coaching, seminars led by admissions officers from business schools, relationship and skill-building workshops, mentoring from alumni, and in-depth seminars led by mlt's partners. Once enrolled in an mba program, the mba professional development curriculum provides fellows with the roadmap and coaching critical to landing and succeeding in the best fast-track career opportunities after graduation. college programs: mlt's career prep program provides undergraduates with the skills and roadmap they need to get on the career fast track after college. The program includes intensive one-on-one coaching, leadership and analytical skill development seminars led by partner corporations, and access to recruiters at sought-after firms. Mlt ascend is a college persistence and career readiness program for low-income, first generation underrepresented minority students. Mlt ascend scholars are matched with an mlt ascend coach who provides guidance and a tailored curriculum ("roadmap") to help participants remain on track to graduate from college and start a fulfilling career.
rising leader executive programs: mlt is focused on assisting mid-career executives in advancing toward senior leadership. The centerpiece of our executive programs is the career advancement program (cap), a 12-month program designed to keep high potential mid-career professionals on the path to senior management, primarily in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Cap is for applicants on track for future positions of senior leadership who have at least two years of midlevel career experience. Other initiatives involve helping mlt alumni fellows to deepen their networks and expand career opportunities, including with mlt partners, many of which engage mlt to identify and recruit rising leaders in the mlt community for open positions.
