Malteser International Americas (MI-A) is a uniquely effective and efficient humanitarian relief organization because it is run by highly talented leadership and well-trained volunteers who insert themselves in many of the most needy and often dangerous places to assist the victims of war, poverty, and violence-- often staying long after the media and other NGOs have departed. I have seen the impressive works of MI in other parts of the world (Kenya, Burma, Jordan, among many others) and what they are doing to lessen calamity and misery in Latin America is vital, courageous, intelligent and determined. MI-A may be small, but it punches way above its weight and is a bright beacon of hope and relief to thousands of victims and families throughout the region, especially Venezuela-Columbia, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, among others.
MIA continues to to great work serving the needy in Latin America, especially Colombia, Haiti and Mexico. Much of the humanitarian assistance in Colombia helps Venezuelan refugees. Professional, caring, focused attention to those who most need it.
I have been a donor for many years and never had any doubt that my money was wasted or misdirected in any way from it's intended mission. Highly recommend this charity
The Order of Malta’s humanitarian efforts around the world, are second to none. Every effort this organization makes, is to help those in need. And, everyone involved, genuinely wants to help as many as they can.
Malteser International America's is a great organization, faith-based in the best way. I love that the organization (the Order of Malta) has roots in the time before St. Francis of Assisi and that today, some 1,000 years later, they're still going strong, putting into practice his mandate that we should, "preach the Gospel always, when necessary use words." That' s MIA in a nutshell, "preaching" with acts of love -- carrying out the corporal works of mercy to better the lives of the poor and vulnerable across the Americas. With the highest degree of professionalism, they are doing great, long-term work in places like Haiti and on the Venezuela/Colombia border where so many are in need. Here's hoping they'll stay true to their mission and do another 1,000 years of good works!
Very efficient and knowledgeable worldwide relief organization. Always in for the long haul providing sustainable assistance specialized in water, sanitation, food security and disaster risk reduction. Humanitarian aid at it’s finest!
I started donating to Malteser International because I was attracted to their development work — they make it possible for communities to become self-sustaining, helping to break the cycle of poverty. I was also impressed by MI’s numbers — more than 90 cents of each dollar it receives goes to programming, less than 10% to administrative expenses. The clincher was when I found out that MI can leverage each $100 I give to make it a gift of up to $1000, all made possible by grants from government and development agencies that MI has partnered with worldwide; that in turn validated both the mission, integrity and governance of Malteser International.
i vowed to the Blessed Mother that i would donate 10% of any money i made on the stock market to malteser international.it would be a restricted gift for physical repair of
women of the congo who had been so horribly mutilated and scarred by their endless
civil war.i contacted Ravi Tripptrap and asked him to tell me specifically how the funds would
be spent.he responded quickly and on point with a detailed outline of how the funds would
be spent.this gave me great relief since most of the time you do not know where the money is going.you simply send a check.i received detailed reports after the money was sent.

My name's David Taylor and I'm the founder/president of the Oasis of Hope foundation based in NE Colombia. Just recently it's been our privilege to work with Malteser International in Santa Marta, Colombia. Your doctors and psychologist did a 2 week medical campaign at our center, seeing literally hundreds of needy people. We are very excited about having the possibility of conducting more campaigns with Malteser in the Guajira desert amongst the Wayuu Indian communities sometime soon.
Would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the organization/charity for the amazing work they do, especially here in Colombia!

I have been involved with Malteser International (MI) since the Haitian Earthquake. I have served on their board. MI is an incredible organization and an honor to serve. It’s all in for support and help of the underprivileged and in need. Long after the cameras are gone, MI remains! God bless them all!
I have been privileged to support Malteser International-Americas for over 5 years. The assistance they provide through their Malta Associations and their Partners is really beneficial to the needy in Haiti and the Caribbean, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and the Americas. Responding to disasters makes the news but disaster preparation and long term rehabilitation is where they serve above and beyond. Adding COVID 19 overlays to all their projects was necessary and they responded quickly and effectively. Assisting with migrants and the indigenous in NE Colombia has included medical, psychological, hygiene, water, sanitation, food security and nutrition and social programs for families and women. They go where the marginalized are and stay long after the news and First Responders have left. They help people live a health life with dignity!
