Mission: Seniors are one of the most vulnerable groups. The computer age, the inundation of forms, letters, and all kinds of mail that seem important make seniors confused and worried. Malea’s Mission helps seniors make sense of paperwork, both hard copy and electronic. We help seniors fill out forms, obtain resources, and ensure our seniors get the help they need. Since many seniors are alone and don’t have family to help, we provide seniors with the knowledge and security needed to make the best decisions regarding challenges they may be facing. Seniors are the most targeted group for scams and fraud. We review paperwork with each senior and help address anything that may be questionable. When necessary, we help seniors file fraud reports, understand what steps to take if fraud is detected. Our mission is to ensure ALL seniors who need assistance will receive the help they need regardless of their ability to pay for those services.

Programs: Purpose. Dignity. Respect. Independence. Through first-hand experience, I witnessed the hardship my grandparents faced. What were once simple tasks became more complex. The inability to complete paying their bills, addressing billing disputes, making follow-up calls, and tax issues impacted their sense of independence and dignity. My name is Malea Madrid and following my experience with my grandparents and speaking with many seniors, I knew I had found my purpose. In 2017, I founded Consider it Done Seniors, LLC (a for-profit business). As Consider it Done Seniors, LLC became more visible and expanded, I started receiving calls from medical facilities that serviced low-income patients who had suffered a major health event (e.g. stroke, heart attack, serious fall, etc.) These patients were living in the medical facility and had either lost their homes, or it was no longer safe for them to return home. The good news was that these low-income seniors would financially and medically qualify for support through the Veterans Administration (VA), Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS), or other agencies. Problem solved? No! The bad news was that employees at these facilities could NOT legally help these seniors complete the appropriate paperwork or gather the needed documentation to apply for the benefits. The demand for assisting these low-income seniors grew at a rapid pace. After a few months of assisting these clients, I realized that Consider it Done Seniors, LLC could no longer afford to support the level of assistance I was giving to these seniors. However, that was NOT an option! My passion, purpose, and deep spiritual convictions would not allow me to turn away these seniors with the greatest need. As a result, Malea’s Mission, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was born in 2022. Our mission is to ensure ALL seniors who need assistance will receive the help they need regardless of their ability to pay for those services. Seniors are often targeted for scams and are vulnerable to exploitation, and I'm committed to combating this threat, I've developed an action plan to respond when fraud is detected. I'm working on making it harder for scammers to victimize seniors, and strip them of their independence. Having worked on numerous cases this year, I've investigated financial exploitation, reported scams, and investigated the manipulative tactics scammers use to bypass laws, revealing the unsettling lengths they go to victimize this vulnerable population. In 2023, Malea's dedication alone enabled the recovery of over $52,000 for seniors. Due to the overwhelming amount of seniors needing assistance, we aim to expand our team. Purpose, dignity, respect, and independence are fundamental aspirations for all individuals. Yet, for the 54 million Americans aged 65 and older, these ideals can diminish with age. Witnessing my grandparents' struggles firsthand, I saw how simple tasks became complex, affecting their ability to manage bills, address disputes, make calls, and handle tax issues, impacting their independence and dignity. In response to the growing need, I founded Consider it Done Seniors, LLC in 2017. However, as the organization expanded, I encountered low-income seniors in medical facilities facing housing crises after major health events. Although eligible for support, facility employees couldn't assist with the required paperwork. The overwhelming demand led to the creation of Malea’s Mission in 2022, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, dedicated to ensuring that senior citizens who require assistance receive it, regardless of their ability to pay. Our non-profit for low-income seniors lately has been educating people on fraud, scams, and the exploitation of the elderly. I want to raise awareness and change flawed regulations that fail to protect our elders from harassment, intimidation, and exploitation. Right now I'm working on getting signatures for a petition to get laws that combat senior exploitation. If you want to check it out that would be helpful here's the link:https://chng.it/YS2S2DSVVF
