Making A Way Housing goes above and BEYOND in supporting its clients and the community! I have enjoyed watching them work to increase their capacity to serve and provide impactful programming for the last nine years. Their work goes beyond providing housing and programming; simply put, it is life-changing.
I have watched how Making A Way Housing, inc has help so many people change their lives for the better. With getting housing, food, clothes, education, banking, jobs and reconnecting with their families. Showing them the ways and means to get their lives in the direction they would like it to go. I am proud to be a part of aa Non-Profit that has so many avenues of help.

Making A Way is not only serving their residence but the community as a whole. With their community clean up, back packs and school supplies for the children going back to school, to their toy drive at Christmas. This is just to name of the few community events it sponsors through out the year. This community has benefited greatly from Making A Way presence and I know it will continue serving the community for many years to come... I am proud to work the the staff and team at Making A Way
I just wanted to say thank you for all you have done and are doing for clients with addiction issues.
MAW was indeed a blessing for my son's father in active addition. Thank you for offering us hope when we thought it was impossible!
In the past ten years, I have had the pleasure of working with the staff at Making Away Housing, Inc. Office Management, and the staff always show compassion with the residents. They also have great concern regarding the project site and well-being.
I've watched this organization literally transform lives. They take in residents that have all but given up on themselves and not only give them hope, but teach them how to thrive by providing the life skills training necessary to maneuver through life. Many of their program graduates return as volunteers so that they can pay forward the blessings they've received from MAWH.
Making A Way Housing has not only been a n amazing opportunity for people in need but also the community. The staff is always going over and beyond to do their part. Hats off to an amazing organization.
The staff is very professional. They care deeply about their clients ands it shows in the wo ro they do for the community. I’d recommend MAWH for anyone in need.
Making A Way has been a life changing experience for me. I never thought this would be the field I’m in. I’ve always loved helping those in need. I love helping, giving, uplifting and putting a smile on someone’s face and God put me in a place where he knew I could give all of that and then some.
I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Making Away Inc. for over 8 years from area beautification, community events to include the celebration of National Recovery Month, feeding the homeless, assisting those in need of transitional as well as permanent housing, substance abuse programs and finding funds to address small barriers (Birth certificates, identification and or medications).
I salute Making Away Inc for continued service to those in need and their communities.

Making A Way is a housing program that has always helped my clients. They provide Quality of care that meet above standards. The staff is friendly and caring. If I have to ask myself a question concerning would I live there myself; the answer would be "YES". Making A Way keep up the good work!
My company, BA BARRETT CONSTRUCTION, worked with HOME AID ATLANTA and MAKING a WAY HOUSING to renovate and modernize 8 apartment units for MAWH. We are very proud to have been a part of this very special project. Today, there is housing for 16 people who would otherwise be facing a very challenging situation.
At a time when most everyone is talking about affordable housing, housing for HIV population, transitional housing and homeless issues, MAKING A WAY is actually doing something about these issues! Thank you to Elizabeth Thompson and all of the staff and MAWH for their positive contribution to making our community a better place.
I have had the opportunity to experience a a new way to live. The staff and facility enabled me to change my way of living and learn that there is a smarter and healthier way to manage my life. The staff didn't let me get away with anything. I didn't like but learned life lessons from it. I couldn't ask for more support,, help and direction and a program that worked with me on a one on one basis. Thank you

T he care and guidance in rehabilitating my life this organization has given to me has been outstanding. I used to have an addiction to crystal meth, and mental health as well as physical health issues. I have slowly learned to maintain a new way of life through this program and have changed many facets of my life. Hard work was required on my part but what was given to me was immeasurable. The staff and program were flexible to work with each client, making this facility top notch rather than cookie cutter like many programs. MAWH has been a service to this community for many years. Thank you for helping to make a new way of life for me and those around me!

When I needed help I contacted over 8 non-profits, Making A Way Housing was the first one that actually listened and said email the bill and the bill was paid that day! They also called back and checked on me and gave me other resources. Other non-profits have helped me but by far Making A Way Housing lets you keep your dignity and they do what a non-profit should actually do, they help people.
In April 2007 I came to Making a way housing, after completion St.Judes Recovery Center. I was scared to death because I didn't want to repeat this vicious cycle again. So it was time I did something different, I came to MAWH where everyone in the community was trying to live life, on life terms. I couldn't believe that in this large community everyone had the same goals. To just stay clean one more day. We were each other's eyes and ears. Motivating each other to perserve through all my doubt. The management team was awesome They continue to encourage me, to aim high, and to become a better version on ME, and now 12+ years I be on this Jouney call life!!!THANK YOU MAWH...
Sincerely Yours,
Sandra Graham...
I had the honor of attending and volunteering at the MAWH 3rd Annual Casino Night Gala Fundraiser. It was by far the best evening of Elegance, Fun, Encouraging and Family oriented people to be surrounded with. Everyone was so pleasant, helpful and caring. The members of MAKING A WAY HOUSING shows their deepest concern for your well being, improving your self confidence and safety. It would be with great pleasure for me to be involved in more events which allows me the opportunity to help and improve the lives of anyone in need. Being Kind and loving to those whom are troubled and/or less fortunate comes free of charge. Find it in your heart to be a Blessing to someone else. Donate and/or Volunteer anything and everything counts.
I traveled from Connecticut just to be apart of something Awesome and it was a blessing to be selfless. Find your way to Making A Way Housing Inc you'll never be without Love
Making a way housing is a very resourceful place for those in need, they help the community out in so many ways and they ask for nothing In Return. Making a way is like a one stop shop for the less unfortunate. When it comes to the community, they provide in various ways..toy drives, back to school supplies, fundraisers, neighborhood cleanup, you name it, making a way housing does it. They cater to individuals who also have H.I.V. as well as Mental Health issues. The staff is not wonderful as well as knowledgeable. The best thing about the staff is that THEY CARE. IF I HAD TO CHOOSE, I CHOOSE...MAKING A WAY HOUSING
My name is Chantaye McLaughlin. Making A Way Housing (MAWH) has helped me on a numerous occasion. 10 years ago, the Mental Illness Diversion Courts brought me to MAWH. I have Bipolar II Disorder and when it goes unchecked it leads to psychosis, then to schizoaffective then to schizophrenia. MAWH accepts mild mental health. With having a diagnosis of schizophrenia, MAWH was the only program that would take me. I'm the person that walks the streets talking to myself when I am in a mental health episode. The staff saved my life. I had one person who told me "You said you want to see your son, if you sign this paper saying that you will take your medicine, then you will be able to see your son." I began taking my medication. The only thing that I could do was drink coffee and sing really loud and change my clothes and hair 7 times a day. I had a staff of loving and caring people who made sure that I did not cause harm to myself and that no one was taking advantage of me physically or sexually. I have a Journalism degree however, I could hardly read when I first got to the property. The words would be blurry on the page. I was able to start back writing and reading clearly while at MAWH. I was able to get a job and to get my son back. None of that would have been possible without MAWH and its staff.
Making Away Housing has allowed me an immeasurable opportunity to volunteer and wiitness service to others in action through the many creative volunteer activities provided by Making Away Housing. The Executive Director, Elizabeth M. Thompson consistently has an ongoing innovative occupational initiave in motion, embracing all walks of life. My favorite programs have been her NA/AA, HIV and life skills building meetings. Education is a key proponent, promoting and providing Financial literacy workshops on a regular basis, computer skills, a lab for the community to train and prepare for jobs, has been a pooular theme within the organization, the sprit of the community is very positive. The tone is very encouraging.. It allows one to become aware of how to work towards a complete fulfilling life. This organization is giving back 125% on a scale of 1-10. Thank you Ms. Thompson...Gina Chaney, Financial Consultant.

Before discovering Making A Way Housing, I was a homeless man, dealing with substance abuse and very serious health issues. I slept under a bridge Auburn Ave./Fort Street.
After being allowed to stay at Making A Way Housing, my life started to change. I began to feel better about myself. I became determine to become a productive member of society. I use the Life Skills classes to learn as much as I could about myself. I took advantage of the case management offered by Making A Way Housing and I am proud today to say that I am healthy, clean and sober, and on my way to becoming a licensed Substance Abuse Counselor. Making A Way Housing Inc gave me that chance and I took it!
They encouraged me and gave me referrals for continuing my education. Today I am enrolled at ICDC College with a grade of 96.90/100.00. Thank you Making A Way Housing. -Benjamin Graham
