Yes! Make it Home is an outstanding organization committed to bringing warmth and love to individuals and families. My interior design firm, IDF Studio, worked with them on a recent project and were stunned by the scale of their operation, their organizational skills, and sheer professionalism in the midst of big asks and tight deadlines. The volunteers and staff are "do-ers" par excellence. Highly recommend!

Make It Home Bay Area is completely fantastic. Every member of their team is so helpful and they truly make every experience wonderful and so easy. They improve so many lives and are very thoughtful in each and every process. Every experience has been nothing but positive.

I have been an active volunteer and donor with Make it Home for about a year and I have found it to be one the most rewarding volunteer experiences of my life. There is a real sense of pride of purpose and camaraderie among the staff and volunteers. We are all truly dedicated to providing a welcoming home environment for those who could use one and we want to re-home all the lovely furnishings that are so generously donated and give them a longer life. There are many interesting tasks from which to choose as a volunteer and that keeps it engaging and fun.

Make it Home is a win/win/win. I have been volunteering for one and a half years and have learned so much about circular economies, refurbishing home goods, landfill diversion and of course the plights of so many in the Bay Area struggling to transition back into a ridiculously expensive housing market. So family should have to choose between putting food on the kitchen table, or owning the kitchen table. Make it Home allows for these families to stop eating dinner on cardboard boxes and get their kids off the floor and into beds. With a compassionate and energetic and can do spirit, the volunteers and staff at MIH makes the good stuff happen for others...and allows for those of us helping to feel like a part of the solution.

When I was growing up in San Francisco, there was a cement company that had pink cement trucks with the message "Find a Need And Fill It" on their rotating cement mixer.
If ever there was a way to describe what Make It Home does, Find A Need And Fill It is perfect. Carolyn has created a business that helps people transitioning out of crisis furnish their new homes as well as eliminating tons of waste from the landfill.

Make It Home is an incredible organization that I am proud to be a part of. MIH's efforts benefit not only the recipients of the home goods that MIH provide them, but the environment also benefits. Essentially, MIH facilitates reuse and repurposing of home furnishings that might otherwise go to landfill. It's a win-win-win-win situation - for the donors, the organization, the recipients and the environment!

This organization is making a huge positive impact on the lives of families experiencing housing insecurity, and in the process it is helping to divert products away from landfill. The founder is an incredible visionary who has attracted the kindest, most dedicated team of volunteers. It's been so gratifying to support this organization and watch it blossom in less than 3 years. I love volunteering in the warehouse, and am honored to serve as a board member.

Make It Home puts all the pieces together. It provides an organization to donate furniture and other home goods, builds a relationship with the clients they help and gives new life to items that may otherwise be sent to the dump. In such a short time Make It Home has established itself in the community as a leading nonprofit and a true community partner. I look forward to being an all around supporter for years to come.

Make It Home does a wonderful job furnishing housing units for Veterans who are exiting homelessness. They tailor the items they supply based on each Veteran's needs and plan out exactly how each item will fit into the Veteran's new housing. Their model costs our agency, a non-profit, far less than if we tried to furnish homes ourselves, and we couldn't be happier with what MIH has done for our Veterans.

I regularly work with the Make It Home team as I downsize or close estates for my clients. They are super organized and all so committed to rehoming perfectly useful items for those who can use them. I love their creativity, focusing on not just filling a space; but, personalizing it to make a real home. I wish I had unlimited funds so that I could support them in that way too! They're the best!

I have donated both furniture and funds to this truly fantastic organization and have become an active volunteer based on my interactions with this inspiring team. I strongly believe in their two-pronged mission of helping individuals and families as they transition out of crisis while helping the environment by keeping furniture out of landfill. The founder, staff and board are aligned in their goals, care about the people they serve and do their very best to create and provide a full package of home furnishings that truly meet the needs of their clients and create a comfortable and welcoming home. The work they do is extremely valuable and they do it with heart!

Carolyn and the team do an outstanding job. This is a great way to help families in need, and at the same time we help keep furniture out of landfills. We always leave the warehouse feeling great because we know another family will be able to use the dishware, silverware, lamp, crib, or other items that we have donated. I've been volunteering with Make It Home for almost 2 years now. It is an amazing organization doing incredibly valuable work. Every time I visit the warehouse I leave with a smile on my face and a real feeling of satisfaction. The work we do there goes directly to help members of our community in need. As a former Interior Designer, I've found a place where I can really apply my experience in a meaningful way. The organization is made up of some of the most talented and inspirational people I have ever met. I was recently asked to join the MIH Advisory Board and I could not be more honored to support the organization.

I volunteer with several nonprofits and we have used Make It Home to help us furnish several apartments for formerly homeless residents. Carolyn and her crew are incredible. They are so thoughtful in the furniture that they put together for pick-up, down to the colors and the ages of the kids. The furniture is in great condition and is usually a designer model. We love Make it Home!

What an amazing organization. They coordinate with local non-profits to outfit entire homes with furniture for people recently experiencing homelessness. It's not only the size of the operation that is amazing, with hundreds of pieces of furniture moving through the warehouse every day, but it's the care they put into selecting each piece of furniture to make sure it's just right for the new home. They are committed to making sure the end product is stylish and comfortable. I also love the workshop part of this organization, where they fix-up slightly damaged pieces, giving them new life, or build new things. On the volunteer side, you can bring the whole family, there is always plenty to do. My kids love sanding, painting and building. Make it Home is filling an important need in our community. I'm thankful for their service.

Donating furniture to Make It Home was a great experience. I found the people I worked with there to be extremely responsive, organized, and kind. I'm confident that my donation is going to a great cause and will be well utilized. The website was clear and user friendly, and when I did have questions that I couldn't find the answers to on the website, my emails were answered promptly and clearly. Very well-run organization.

My daughters and I really enjoy volunteering for Make It Home. It is great to be hands-on in volunteering and seeing the final result of our efforts at the end of our volunteer shift.
