Make-A-Wish is an organization that defies description. The impact they have on children and their families is immeasurable. They don't just grant wishes; they create lasting memories, instill hope, and provide much-needed moments of joy during incredibly challenging times. I'm eternally grateful that this charity exists to bring magic into the lives of these brave children.
This is a review for national, not Phoenix.
It is obscene the amount of money of the executive officers for this charity. Seriously, who NEEDS over $500,000 to live? Working for a charity, salaries should be compensated based on performance (percentage of overhead) and should never be over $200,000.
Make a Wish has a huge overhead of 12% of all donations goes to overhead and marketing. Meanwhile, the Jimmy Carter Foundation has a 2% overhead and the Airline Ambassadors has about a 2-3% overhead.
Review from Guidestar
This review is not about the Arizona Chapter but about the National Office. They have an incredible mission and do wonderful things for kids but treat non executive employees like garbage. Very clickish mentality and blacklist any employee who stands up for herself. Very cold environment. I would not recommend working here or donating to the National office. It's not enough to have a good mission, you also need to be able to treat employees with dignity and respect at ALL levels, not just the executives.

Review from Guidestar
I have donated to MAW and found that they immediately confirm receipt of donations with an very sweet e-mail. Recently, I have also had the experience of my niece developing cancer and being granted a "wish." This organization was wonderful and so very kind and considerate. Both as a donor and a family member, I cannot say enough about Make a Wish.
Review from CharityNavigator
Make-A-Wish brings hope, strength and joy to thousands of children every year through the power of a wish. A wish helps transform a child's experience at a time when life is filled with hospitals, medicine and painful moments. Moreover, it creates a joyful experience for the entire family. The many wish children I have met, have enriched my life and made me appreciate the many blessings life has to offer. As a donor I am confident that the money I give will make a difference in the life of a child.....and that is a powerful feeling!
Great organization! My sister passed away last year. She always wanted to swim with dolphins and this organization made that happen. We have great memories of my sister and the bravery she showed, but one of the best memories is her being happy, swimming with the dolphins. God Bless those that made her wish come true.
