Causes: Food, Food, Agriculture & Nutrition
Mission: Make a difference dkc is organized and operated for the charitable purpose of facilitating fundraising for the benefit of feed my starving children (fmsc), a worldwide charity organized for the purpose of alleviating world hunger, and to further serve the charitable needs of other not-for-profit organizations operating in dekalb county and northern illinois, in accordance with section 501(c)(3) of the internal reveneue code of 1986.
Programs: Each year make a difference dkc hosts a mobilepack event for feed my starving children. In 2017 over 1. 25 million meals were packed for distribution by fmsc to countries around the world in an effort to alleviate malnourishment and starvation. Make a difference dkc facilitates the planning and fundraising for the event primarily through the sale of t-shirts and raffle tickets. All of this is accomplished by volunteers. It is the organization's goal to repeat and grow this event each year. In 2017 $20,000 was raised for the fmsc event and in addition $9,800 was raised for local not-for-profit organizations in dekalb county/northern illinois.
