Mission: When MMA was founded in 1941, its fundamental purpose was to perpetuate Maine''s seafaring tradition and contribute to the nation''s well being. Over the years, the school''s curriculum and offerings have evolved. Today, the mission of the college is to provide a quality education primarily focused on marine-related programs. The curriculum empowers students to take on leadership roles, encourages rigorous self-discipline, promotes curiosity, and provides graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the global economy.
