Mission: The maine center for economic policy provides citizens, policymakers, advocates, and media with credible and rigorous economic analysis that advances economic justice and prosperity for all maine people.
Programs: Research & education - mecep conducts research, analysis, and education and outreach to advance economic policies that help working families prosper. 2017 accomplishments: produced 30 research policy briefs and analyses, issued 33 press releases, wrote 11 op-eds, featured in 23 radio/tv interviews, and had our analyses cited in 108 news stories; maintained a weekly blog and daily facebook and twitter sites; published a monthly newsletter, and presented information at 25 public events on topics such as tax fairness, budget options, health care access, fair wages, safety net needs, employment trends, predatory lending, and college affordability.
