Mission: The exempt purpose of main street mcminnville, inc. Is to protect and enhance mcminnville's historically and culturally significant downtown commercial area by actively promoting preservation, rehab and adaptive reuse of historical buildings in the traditional business district through providing technical assistance, education, and special promotional events.
Programs: Main street mcminnville statement of program service accomplishments july 1, 2016 - june 30, 2017during the last fiscal year from july 1, 2016 to june 30, 2017, main street mcminnville continued as a certified member of the national main street organization to offer benefits to the community of warren county, visitors and the businesses that reside on main street within the historic district. Main street mcminnville operates with a board of directors with the following national main street four point organization: 1. Design committee - assistance with historic district guideline implementation for design and restoration, web site viewing of properties for rent and for sale within the district, repair and replace windows in historic building through a grant; 2. Promotion committee - sponsored multiple community events, such as main street live, an eight week event in the summer that offers free community concerts each friday night with an average attendance above 700 people, christmas downtown event, support to other community events such as the autumn street fair, highland rim cycling event, fourth of july celebration, christmas parade, and others;3. Organization committee - membership drives, fundraisers, educational opportunities for business owners, production of a newsletter sent to members;4. Economic restructuring committee - continued to offer a tax abatement program to business and building owners but there were none implemented during this period.
