Mission: Maharishi vedic city development foundation is a nonprofit organization organized and operated exclusively for the promotion of the social welfare and the common good and general welfare of maharishi vedic city, iowa, its residents, visitors, and the community it serves, within the meaning of section 501(c)(4) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended (the "code"). All references to sections of the code include the corresponding provision of any subsequent federal tax law. More specifically, the purposes for which the corporation is formed are as follows: 1) to develop maharishi vedic city, iowa as an ideal city including creating housing for all income levels, particularly affordable housing, and facilities for education, business, tourism, community support, and other necessary functions all designed according to natural law, and to work with maharishi vedic city, its residents, the community, state and federal government bodies, and non-profit organizations to achieve this go
Programs: Completed construction of 3 affordable townhouse units built according to maharishi sthapatya veda design, in addition to 8 townhouses and one home previously completed, all of which were funded with the assistance of loans from maharishi vedic city. Worked with the city on planning of additional affordable housing, community center and master plan. Held public educational meetings and tours.
