Mission: The Macula Vision Research Foundation (MVRF) is a 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to finding a cure for macular degeneration and other retinal diseases. To reach this goal, MVRF funds groundbreaking research projects conducted by the world’s top scientists with the hope of improving the lives of millions of people affected by visual impairment. What makes MVRF unique is that 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to research. All administrative and fundraising expenses are underwritten by the Karen and Herb Lotman Foundation, allowing MVRF to allocate all donations towards finding a cure. Along with funding research, MVRF also provides education and outreach to those with visual impairments through our signature SupportSight Program which includes seminars, newsletters and resources.

Macula Vision Research Foundation is a charity I have been contributing to for several years. My mother was diagnosed with the disease and I became concerned I might develop macular degeneration. After reading about this organization, I was pleased to learn about all of the research being done to help find a cure.

Most impressive is that all monies donated go to research, which is very important to me.

This organization also conducts numerous seminars for the sight impaired. I viewed one on U-Tube and found the presenters to be very knowledgeable and easy to understand.

This is a charity worth supporting.

MVRF is an amazing organization that not only strives to find a cure for macular degeneration, but also to educate people living with the disease. I have volunteered at a number of their SupportSight Seminars around the area and they do a wonderful job of informing people about macular degeneration and living with low vision. They bring top doctors, specialists and motivational speakers that give people the most recent information, the tools to lead better lives and the courage to move on past their diagnosis. I can see that their work is making a tremendous impact within the AMD community.

There aren't enough words to express the value of donations made to MVRF where every penny goes toward finding a cure for macular degeneration. I'm pleased to have found such a wonderful organization worthy of whatever amount I can donate. The staff at MVRF is exceptional. I have a dear friend recently diagnosed with macular degeneration and have put her in contact with MVRF also. I intend to spread the word about MVRF to everyone I know. Thanks MVRF for providing hope for everyone with this disease.

I have been making donations to MVRF for the past 3 years. It’s an important cause to me and I love that 100% of my donations go directly to research. I also learn a lot from the newsletters that are sent to me. Not only do they provide important information, I get to see the work of the researchers who received money from them. Great organization.

My wife Phyllis has macula and I've searched the internet trying to find an organization which gives us hope in finding a cure. You cannot do better than a charity where every dollar goes to research. We've attended two seminars and learned of the progress toward finding a cure as well as suggestions to assist in daily living.

My Mother suffered with Macula Degeneration and dealt with all of the daily living problems associated with the disease. It was not until after she passed away that I learned about MVRF and the wonderful support they provide for those with Macula Degeneration. This wonderful Non Profit organization helps those who cannot help themselves and works tirelessly to find a cure.

When my elderly mother who has Age Related Macular Degeneration moved into our home several years ago, I was overwhelmed with problems that she had visually in day to day living. I quickly contacted the MVRF for resources and they were wonderful! They told me how to get a large button TV remote control, how to find resources for talking watches etc. And from their wonderful Newsletter I learned about eye vitamins, related visual side effects and the assurance that we were not alone in trying to cope with such a debilitating and challenging disease. But most importantly, their funding of research to CURE the disease gives my husband and me confidence in the fact that this terrible disease (which members of both of our families have suffered from) will soon be just history. They are enabling researchers to find a cure as well as helping those of us who need support now. They are a wonderful organization which I am proud to support .
