Mission: Surrounded by a rich musical and southern culture, the macon film festival celebrates independent film while promoting filmmaking for entertainment, inspiration education, and economic development. Through the work of the macon film festival and the macon film commission, it is our vision for central georgia to become a destination for film.
Programs: Macon film festival for the current fiscal year was held on july 20-23, 2017. During the festival 60 independent films were screended at the douglass theatre, hargray capitol theatre and theatre macon. An opening night full-dome film was screened at the museum of arts & sciences. Four special evening screenings were shown and five free workshops were held for filmmakers and the general public. A total of 2,491 people attended the festival events.
